Great to see that you're getting ideas. It's up to you to choose what you want to do with your own life. Since you know yourself the best, pick whatever you'll enjoy the most. If soccer and botany interest you, why don't you look into it?

Like I said, I have no right to tell you what to do. But those do seem like decent things to do in your spare time.

Drugs are illegal. So you shouldn't have mentioned it in the first place.

    Also, particle physics.

So if you are bored with your old games, than maybe its a good idea to have a part time job if possible. You use up time and get money for new video games. Also learning new things as the others mentioned. Hand-sewing for example. The basics are very easy, its not expensive to start and there are a lot of My little Pony plushie patterns. If you get better you can give them to fellow bronies, try to collect all mane six self made or whatever. And i can say it takes time :D

Or start baking... your family and friends will love you for this, its funny and also not that hard to learn =)

lol. I don't see hand-sewing in any part of my life in the near future. But the baking thing sounds like fun. It's kinda hard to get a part-time job during the school year. So if you got any ideas what jobs might be open for kids during the school year, lemme hear them.

As dull as they would be, checkouts at any large business would probably be your best bet (or similar jobs; stocking shelves, fast food place, etc), they're used to having lots of staff come and leave. In saying that though, crap jobs do have their upsides, they're usually very easy so there's no stress and if you get fired for doing a slack job well you haven't really lost much.

hard to say... most guys i know that work while in school have a job with spreading newspapers or flyer, some work on saturdays in some shops as temporary personnel, really rarely some work in cafes or restaurants, because the worktime is often very flexible. If you have a neighborhood with much lawns you could mow them, you could walk dogs, or take care of pets when the owners are in hollidays... uhm... Its also a questin of age... i mean you are in the 11. grade? How old are you then? 16? 17? And I just dont know anything about the working habbits in your country...

Soo baking is wonderful! In Big Simms Daaww Thread you can see 2 cakes thar look pretty amazing... Good with baking is the most stuff you need, your parents already have at home, like an oven etc. and most of the time even the ingrediens... I bought an Icing bag especially for cupcakes <3
And I think there are a lot of good recipes on the internet.. I always get my recipes at the internet at a german cooking and baking site... =)
Its fun to bake! Even if the mother of my boyfriend is complaining because she gained weight :D Just try it out dude! Sometimes even better then playing video games... (just the mess afterwards is getting on my nerves :D )

::S: What I meant was, generally it's just a routine you learn once then do over and over and over again, I tended to 'zone out' when working because it had become such second nature. I kind of liked that stage, it was almost like I wasn't even working, you do tend to make silly makes though...

I'd like to point out the OP is not here to talk about his personal substance usage, and is instead, looking for something to get involved in in a productive and captivating way.

Before this fandom, I was pretty much the same way. I used to raid in WoW, but after I quit the game, I took to other games to fill its void.

However, nowadays, I've switched the burden to trying to learn several things at once, as well as reading (a massive fantasy series) and writing (fanfiction). I've set really difficult goals for myself with the fanfiction (get on EQD) so I tend to invest more effort than you might expect of something. It's time consuming, but it will expand your understanding of the literal arts.

I occasionally study music making in DAWs. Every now and then I'll do some music theory studying and collect a VST to use in Ableton or FL Studio. I haven't yet put a lot of time in this, but I'm very interested in learning to make various styles of music, particularly Trance, Dubstep, and Metal.

I still game, and I occasionally do go out with friends. However, most of my friends live fairly far from me, or most of what we can do outside of the house requires money, and well, I'm perfectly content watching TV with some friends.

As for smoking weed, don't worry about anyone's opinion here. I smoke, and I've never found it addictive or destructive. Don't quit if you don't want to, but for any job you want that does drug screening, you'll need to quit 7-10 days before applying in case they call you for an interview and test the same day. I would definitely quit if it becomes a financial burden or begins affecting your life directly in a negative way, though. I, personally, only smoke with other friends that do. It does help pass the time and makes some mundane chores or tasks more bearable.

Wow i was thinking those exact words a couple of minutes before reading this. As far as the weed goes i couldn't agree more with you. Although it's healthy IMO to give it a break for a few months if not then more.

It's not the most unhealthy habit unless you smoke a significant amount, or with a particularly bad method. I do not smoke cigarettes and almost never drink. I tend to maintain a fairly balanced diet with a bit of exercise, so my health is always good.

Honestly, you smoke weed far less than you do cigarettes, so it shouldn't become a health issue unless you have an underlying condition (asthma, for example). It's just a lifestyle choice, and you can practice good health in spite of it.

I've never indulged in any illegal substances, but may I just point out that the fact that Marijuana is Illegal and Alcohol is legal is absolutely baffling to me. They are both equally as damaging long term and the fact that marijuana is assumed to be criminal and unhealthy just irritates me considering it is used for medicinal cases and sometimes is enjoyed leisurely and not abusively.

However, the OP was presumably so casual with his habit because he didn’t expect the sh*tstorm. I thought those of you that commented negatively would have at least had a tolerant approach to handle your negative opinion towards OP’s comment. Illegal or not, there are some things much worse for you that are legal, and although I would never smoke marijuana, I would never be so offensive towards the OP unless he was evidently bragging about it. Which he didn’t.
