I am just having fun, taking a break from theology studies. And I did not say being a zealot is a good thing, just that I am one..
Except not at all. Smiteadins can solo everything, including Pandemonium Tristram. Zealadins can not.
No. But Zealadins can 1 hit (1 right click really) Baal. What now? And Teeth necromancers are still silly broken. Just like Apocalypse+Hurricane Droods.
OH neat, now I can ask my question. So I was at work and I was talking to a co-worker. He said that there is only one god and one lord. When I asked him about other religious deities he said that people can believe what they want and he thinks they could be real, but there is only one lord. I just don't get it. How can he claim that all deities could be real, but claim that his god is the only one?
That I truly don't understand. I think people can believe in what they want. I no longer believe in this so-called 'God'. What has 'God' accomplished other than cause people to suffer for the benefit of another? That isn't fair. Isn't this 'God' supposed to be righteous and just?
As I come to understand, He might claim the other deities do exist, BUT Only the Lord is what is defined as God, namely: Is omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (all knowing) and omnibenevolent (perfectly good and moral). Just my interpretation.
Maybe he meant that the other deitys are his god with another name and story? Since some Religions ARE similar. So maybe if you believe in the flying spaghettimonster, it is the same lord, but you imagine him differently. Maybe he meant there is only one creator of everything, what ever his name is.
Maybe he was saying that despite the fact that there could be other deities (hypothetically), and this in contestant with his own faith, he was probably saying that while he's not sure if he's placing his faith in the correct lord, he is certain there is still one. I don't know really, I grew up being taught there were multiple gods and goddesses for a religion, so it's hard for me to wrap my head around how one could only believe in the possibility of just /one/ god.
Yeah, I was never really into it though you know? It was mostly just being dragged around by my shirt collar to religious events my parents went to. Parties Festivals More parties It was tons of fun, but then it stopped when they converted to Atheism.
Never asked. I'm assuming because a lot of the people they practiced their faith with became hostile for some reason, I've only heard bits and pieces about it. After that they just stopped going altogether and were eventually just like "Pffft, Atheists now lol"
Well. That must've have been... odd. Do you miss the parties and festivals and more parties? Or did you find it a smooth transition. And then I was bombarding you with questions. <_>
I don't mind lol. To be honest, I really do miss the parties because a lot of my childhood friends were associated with my mom and dad's friends that were met through our religion, but as they separated we grew away and now we just don't celebrate altogether anymore. I don't think I noticed it all too much really though, I'm only now taking note of it for nostalgic reasons I'm sure.
