just a thought. Lets say we have this true harmony. Everyone is just lovin' and huggin'

all debates become "i see your point" then hug fest. It would become boring.

lets look at now. I seem to be Mr. Negative. To achieve harmony with me, either someone is gone have to learn to deal with how negative I seem to be or remove it from me.

The 2nd one seems impossible to achieve and the 1st one has been proved time and time again. There will never be harmony.

Just like there will never be peace.
    It's not just politics.
Philosophy proves it to be true.
And everything that is now explained by science
Was once explained only through philosophical means.

    This community.
    It has debates.
It however lacks the above described
    Shattering and viscous cycle.

Slippery slopes are the weakest fallacy.

    And it would be.
For the first week or so.
    Then the posts stop.

Also I'll probably be forcefully excluded.
    Shame about love and tolerance.

    @Echo

Well I've been viewing this 'debate' for a little while. :p I have to agree that complete harmony is unachievable- Not everyone can be happy at the same time. Then again, we can try to be happy and achieve harmony within ourselves for the most part. I guess it's what the show promotes, really. I don't reckon your point is completely negative 'cause I know what you're referring to. ^^

Yes, I fully understand A text post won't change anything, but it can sure outline what should and can happen

The goal can never be fully met, it is an ongoing process, so in that sense, we should rejoice for working to the goal.

Is that saying that you don't always take peoples positive view points?

That is not the goal, its to get to a better place then we are. to turn the debates from. "this sucks, this will never work, this isn't good, this is ending" to " this sucks because bla bla bla, maybe if we did this it would help that, I agree with this except for bla bla bla we should do bla instead"

And yes, like I said, Harmony is impossible, it can't be fully achieved, just approached. The same way that you myst strive for mastering life. You are always trying to master it but it is the process, always getting better but not finding any one best way. Everyone is different so having one way to live life could never work.

    I concur.

Forced relations are the worst relations.

Any goal can be met, it just depends how you wish to achieve it. Shrink the number of bronies to 6 and you might get real harmony.

When people say that we should all just have a giant hug fest because life is so great and wonderful, yes I refuse that. It's silly to believe.

I give reasons for things when I see them negatively.

Mastering life is like getting a gold, I prefer to go for the bronze.

I'd prefer not to love and tolerate a few most of the members here.

It'd be ideal for everyone to tolerate everyone. However, loving (or liking) someone is different. While we shouldn't exactly hate (unless obvious boundaries are crossed), disliking is alright in moderation.
