I want you guys honest opinion (As long as it falls within site rules of course) on how long you think the brony fandom will last, and if it will get a boost from future gen's of ponies. Alright, discuss!

In my opinion, I think that most will end up as temporary fans that will probably leave within months or maybe a year or so after the final credits roll for the current gen, but a group of true bronies will probably remain and stay around for the next gen. What say you?

I think that the fandom will slowly degrade -
As most do - as time goes on.

Sure it'll last a long while,
But I believe it's gonna get a hell of a bad name
By the end of all relevant things.

    Those being the 3rd season.

    Why?

Because season 3 is always terrible,
    Unless it doesn't suck.
    Logical, no?

It will end eventually, but there's no sense in worrying about it now.

This is just a fad. However, MLP:FIM will most likely die after S3, whether we like it or not. Then Hasbro will reboot it and all this will hopefully start again.

The best thing to do is to just enjoy the show while it's here. If we are as strong and devoted as we believe, our fan made content will carry us to the next reboot when FIM is over.

Now this just sounds like a religion,
    To me at least.
This would be a silly religion.

    Definitely this for me.

And I also agree with what Echo said. It's gonna depend on the individual, if they want to stick to the fandom or not. As S3 begins and progresses, I can see our fandom's 'veterans' being to slowly dwindle away in activity as a brony. Perhaps they get bored or wish to pursue a new interest. In turn they will be replaced by the "fresh batch" of new bronies that will get hooked from S3.

xD Well not necessarily expendable, but it'd depend if the new season is going to be good enough to keep the interest up.

Temporary in the sense that it will degrade, especially after the end of FiM.

I can't really put a word on this topic, but if i'm forced to say something, I will definitely say: We'll see, some cartoons got 10+ seasons, now, this is definitely not the case, but i'm pretty sure we can reach season 4 without suffering, and then yes, reboot, G5 and the end of all the G4 fandom

Well Star Trek ended a long time ago and we still have trekkies, maybe bronies will be the same way with not only G4 but G5 or G4.5 or whatever they make after FiM's final episode airs on t.v. as well.

I think the first question is: How many seasons will there be? And will they be good?

Some will quit like one year after the last episode for example. And i think the fandom will at least live as long as there are new good episodes, they can discuss draw or what ever :D and a part will also live on. Maybe a small part but there will always be some, who still remember this good show.

Indeed... I don't see us as a community, being all that.... Close knit.

So... Eventually We will all fade from the fandom.

But thats where people personal investments to the show come in... Even if the best part of MLP:FIM was the Fandom.
