    This computer won't even turn on. It stopped working after a power surge, but a green light is blinking in the back. I don't know if it's just the PSU or something more serious. I'm a dud at computer hardware.

    There we go. I got it working by giving the power supply a jump start. Unfortunately, if the power cable is unplugged it needs another jump start to get going again. I guess that's good enough for now, since it's free.
