Exactly what the title says, why when you joined this site, did you chose the username that you did, or in the case of those that have changed their names, why did you change it from what it was and why did you chose your current one to replace it?

Alright, here's mine: When I joined back in early March, I was trying to develop my first OC for the fanfic I was writing at that time, her name was Snow Mark, the fanfic was supposed to be a what if? scenerio where Twilight found out that she wasn't Celestia's true number 1 student and there was another.

TL;DR: My first OC was named Snow Mark and that was my only OC at the time so I just went with that.

    What about you guys?

I was on Memebase (My Little Brony), and came across "Guile's Theme Goes With Everything: Sonic Rainboom". I didn't know what "Guile's Theme" was at the time, but it was awesome when I heard it. Next, I remembered being in a chatroom. It was so fun, talking to friends and whatnot. Being a brony, I was afraid that people would make fun of me, so I looked up "Pony Chat". The first thing I saw was "www.ponychat.net". I didn't know how to work it, so I went to the next thing: Everypony Forums. I didn't want to make up a name I wouldn't remember (My first consideration was GoogleGeek xD), so I just chose Guile. So now you know that Im not a Street Fighter addict. Besides, Mortal Kombat is better :p

Well most ponies have a name that is a compound, like flutter shy, rainbow dash, etc. Well figure i'd pick a name like me that was soft and board breaker fit it perfectly

I was getting tired of my old name since it wasn't appealing to me at all in the fandom. I started looking for a better name that seemed more fitting for the community. I went through name generators, simple english words in other languages for something that sounded cool, and finally landed on "Tempest" which is "storm" in latin. I love storms. I love everything about them. The weather that people say is bad is good weather for me. I thought "Tempest" sounded cool enough, but I wanted to give it a little something extra to make it more fitting for an OC I have yet to create. I was also considering "Ventus" which is "wind" in latin, but it didn't match what I had in mind. My name was going to be "Ventus Wind" but translated it would mean "Windy Wind" so instead I went with "Tempest Wind" meaning "Stormy Wind."

I got mine from my very first name i used in an RPG back when I was five. Iv'e been making up stories pretty much my whole life. The name is an ancestor from one of the main characters in my story. (Ash Loehr) Now if I were too explain the whole theme behind the name and the person who's name it belongs too in the story would probably take up about 4 posts. But currently i'm trying too get it changed too Kickbass which is my pony OC.

Edit: Didn't notice that it was changed xD.

The concept of wind appeals to me, so I chose a wind-related term that seemed awesome. :3

The wind is free and without limits, like I want to be. :p

I was sitting around, bored as hell, and decided to make an OC because /everyone/ else had one.
I got stuck on the name and thought back to anything that might've sounded cool.

Any of you ever play Age of Wonders?
Any of you remember those annoying birds which camped on beginning buildings?
    They were called Zephyr Hawks.

I liked the name and swiped it :3

Mine's a pretty boring story tbh but what the hell.

Despite first appearances my username is not just a mess of random numbers and letters. I'm a bit of a car nut, have been since I was 12, with my favourite car being the Nissan 180SX (240SX in other parts of the world, though the 240SX does have a different engine which is relevant). The engine in the 180SX is named SR20DET where each number and letter denotes a certain characteristic of the engine.

Then I just added 'DOG' at the end which was a way to make the name a bit more unique and also as a slight tribute to my late dog. It's in all capitals simply to match the rest of the name, 'SR20DETdog' didn't look right and would have bugged me. It also conveniently works as an online nickname so people don't have to remember my whole username.

The main reason I use this name though is it's uniqueness, since I started using it I've never had one of those, "This username is already in use" messages pop up.

Basically, from an early age, I called myself "Dodo", then in my early teen-years, it came back up some how, and I decided to make it my name on video games and stuff. On Metroid Prime Hunters, one of my friends saw my name and mistook it for saying Doo Doo, so now I spell it with two capital D's instead of one.

Whoa, so did I! Except it was when I was 8. When I was creating my character on World of Warcraft (this was around a week after its initial vanilla release, and my sister had gotten it) I couldn't think of anything for my guy. My sister blurted out "Jay Rock" and I wrote it in as Jhera. She just shrugged, said "close enough" and I used it. After about a month, the game stopped appealing to her but I was completely hooked.

And that was how my obsession with online games began!
Maybe I'll explain Jhera some time, now THAT is a long one!

EDIT: I still have Jhera c:

Aye. This is definitely not my normal name. Follow the trail, you'll find me. Alias_North to Frenzyhero, Frenzyhero to Winkdink12 to Atlas and so on. Multiple accounts are completely falsified to make each harder to trace back to the original.

Alias is of course, a name that one uses to keep their real identity hidden. North as in the North Star, the star one would follow to head north. North always leads to a civilization, thus that tidbit of knowledge is a good thing. North in this case means it leads to the next name in the chain.

Well, I was looking for an OC name quite a while, and I could not think of one, so I chose Radaboy, pronounced like "attaboy". THE END.

    Head-to-keyboard. letter shuffling. The end.
Speaking of pronunciation, mine is as if it was one 'i' and short 'i', not 'eeth' or other.
