I'd like to try out some voice acting, I do Drama class at school if that helps me in any way :] I've also done some voice acting type of things just for practice, I've tired Rarity, Fluttershy and Pinkiepie as well as some background characters such as Trixie, Bon-Bon, Lily and so on.
Ok. I did one. Could have done better, but I am rushed right now.
New way to scare the foals! I think I may want some generic sounds for the characters, too. For in combat actions. Like "Take that" or "Hyah" things like that. Oh, I know... I need background artists. Mostly, really, background artists I think would be good. Since I can't do backgrounds worth a... well... vague impressionistic painting.
So... if players could choose between the following ages: Foal M/F, Colt, Filly, Stallion, or Mare Then could choose between the following voice styles: Average, Excitable, Cool, Aggressive, or Shy I guess that would make 30 different voice sets, huh? Maybe we could cut it down to 15 by limiting age choice. Male/Female for grown ponies, and Foal for the Alucornus option. We could even make that sound mystical... and since foals are kids, it's not always easy to tell male from female anyway. Then we could take the voice sets from Baldur's Gate and learn a bit from them. After all, you can make custom sets for that if you just save it in there with the .wav files. (Of course, I'll be converting this RPGs into .ogg to save space.) BG just has a lot of different sound listings we can run with. - - Auto Merge - - Spoiler: Since I'm probably making no sense... this is what I mean... XXXXXXXa.wav : Battle Cry XXXXXXXb.wav : Becoming Leader XXXXXXXc.wav : Tired XXXXXXXd.wav : Bored XXXXXXXe.wav : Badly Wounded XXXXXXXf.wav : Selected 1 XXXXXXXg.wav : Selected 2 XXXXXXXh.wav : Selected 3 XXXXXXXi.wav : Action Acknowledgement 1 XXXXXXXj.wav : Action Acknowledgement 2 XXXXXXXk.wav : Action Acknowledgement 3 XXXXXXXl.wav : Being Hit XXXXXXXm.wav : Dying XXXXXXXn.wav : In Forest XXXXXXXo.wav : In City XXXXXXXp.wav : In Dungeon XXXXXXXq.wav : Daytime XXXXXXXr.wav : Nighttime XXXXXXXs.wav : Rare Selected 1 XXXXXXXt.wav : Rare Selected 2 XXXXXXXu.wav : Rare Selected 3 XXXXXXXv.wav : Rare Selected 4 XXXXXXXw.wav : Reaction to Party Member Death That's the Baldur's Gate custom names list. Ours would be WAY shorter, since sounds would probably not play except for in battle. Making it about as many differences as in... the "Tales of" games. - - Auto Merge - - With character building options for race and voice, it would be cool. Tedious, but cool. Guess I'm getting ahead of myself. I'll reel in the reigns a bit. I'm just imagining: Mystic Heart uses Energy Beam! "Take this!" I've already been working on different types of each race. Each one would have "Offensive, Defensive, and Utility." I think...
Casting Call! We need voices for: Constella (Filled by Dark Shine) Celestia Luna Male Guards Female Guards Twilight Sparkle Pinkie Pie Rainbow Dash Rarity Fluttershy Applejack (The following need to have their accents/manners of speaking defined) Pink Fizz (Freeloader Manehattan voice) Jhera Flower Fireheart Entropy Lightning Chaser Dark Shine (Calm, British accent with an average pitch) Butch (Diamond Dog. Big and dumb. Think of old Looney Tunes cartoons.) Bruiser (Diamond Dog. The smarter, more jerky one. Old Looney Tunes cartoons.) (The following are generic enemies that have speaking lines) Male Walking Nightmare (Unicorn, Pegasus, Earth pony) Female Walking Nightmare (Unicorn, Pegasus, Earth pony) I'll be editing this as roles are filled. Interested applicants can post here or PM Eight Star or myself.
Is there room for me, im quite good at doing an american accent but i speak Australian the best. Character voices like twilight, pinkie etc. im hopeless at.
Well, we can certainly give you something to try out. Quill, activate script powers, please! I think the Cool or Aggressive style might fit him, eh?
Of course, it's the ones I don't have anything written for. Hmm... Aggressive (Casting a spell): "Let's see how you like this!" Aggressive (Need healing): "Somepony wanna help me out here?" Cool (Casting a spell): "Check this out!" Cool (Need Healing): "Little help, please?" Meh, it's the best I can come up with right now.
-creeps up behind all of you- BOO! Did I scare you? Anyhow, I am terrible at voice acting, and you've seen my drawing and stuffs, but anything else I can help with? Oh yeah: Entropy's voice should be American, and fairly (but not ridiculously) low. Any other specifics on that? Oh yeah x2: Hi. I is here.
Where to start?! There are, of course, specific characters to make stuff for, and different moods, and other stuff. I've got the general layout, as per earlier posts, so I will try, and you tell me if I'm doing it wrong. xD Also, I will try to get an adequate example of Entropy's voice up soon, and test my voice acting at the same time. Maybe (MAYBE) I'm not as bad as I think I am, but personally I think my voice is about as dull as they get.
I figure that the character creation will occur like the scene where Luna asks the group of adventuring ponies to "step forth and introduce themselves." So you can start with what dialog script you want there, Quill.
