    Hey everypony! ^^

To start off, I want to say this is my first time using this forum, so go easy on me. That being said, I want to show all of you a game that me and 10 other very talented (in my opinion) are working on. Basically, its an Open-World puzzlebased RPG. It contains the Dragon Age 2 controls, the World-Acts from Diablo 2 and 3, the Open-World and 3D aspect from World of Warcraft, and puzzles from all sorts of puzzle games.
Although there will be combat involved, it will be alike the combat seen in the Zelda games. For now the game will be singleplayer, but if people show interest in it, we will consider making it multiplayer..
I, along with our Lead 3D modeller, am the founder of this game. So far, these are the ideas we're working towards getting ready for the demo release:

You start out in the schoolhouse as 3 ponies. A Pegasus, Unicorn and Earth pony. Meaning you control a group of 3 fillies/colts, which you can switch between controlling as you go, like in Dragon Age 2. The first interaction is with Miss Cheerilee. She will give you a quick introduction, after which tou will then proceed into the school yard, where (possibly) Cheerilee will instruct you on how to use the basic controls and the racial abilities for each race, on the different objects in the school yard. We have not yet decided what all of the racial abilities are, but its certain that you are going to need all 3 ponies to overcome many of the puzzles in the game.

Currently, we're looking for the following:

    • 3D Artist (Modeler)
    • 2D Artist (GUI Graphics)
    • 2D Artist (Textures)
    • Sound Artist (Background Music, Voice Acting, Spell/Ability Audio, Background Audio, e.g. birds, wind, rain, etc.)

But anyone who wants to help are welcome to ask, and we'll see if we can work something out.

So far we are still programming the base of the game. E.g. the controls, audio, NPCs, interaction, world physics, etc. Which means, we don't have much portfolio yet. All we want to show is this picture of the creation screen, seeing as everything else at the moment are simply not far enough in development to give the spectator a clear view of our intentions with the game:
Of course it will have eyes. The reason it currently doesn't is, we're trying to make it possible for us to move the eyes through programming. It will save the animators a lot of work, and the game will take up less disk space.
Also, bear in mind that most of the 2D graphics you see will be changed, once we actually get a 2D artist x)

Not much more to say from here. If there's more you'd like to know, let me know and Ill update it as soon as possible.

    Looks cool.
And Welcome to Everypony, I hope you have fun and settle in
Anyway, I do doodles so I could do Concept art if you need.
I could also try my hand at voice acting and such.

We do have a concept artist already, but... First of all, he isn't very active due to work and such, so you can't blame him. And second, we could use a couple more I guess. You got a Skype I can contact you on, or would you prefer email?

    Thanks

First off, Welcome to Everypony! Second of all, wow, that looks neat! I'm not very good at drawing, but I could help with the ideas.

    Skype is much easier.
Just use the little skype symbol by my name.
    :)
If you want examples of some voice acting stuff I can do, just ask!

That is a very good question. So far, we're planning on making it the final act. Which means that in the demo, you wont get there. But in the final act of the game, you'll go to the Everfree Forest and discover its secrets. We still haven't decided upon exactly what will be the final encounter, but it is sure to be something that makes up for the time spent getting there.

Flo, one of our great programmers has managed to unravel the mystery that is HLSL! That means we now have a basic shader working! Head over to the Blogspot to read more about it, or watch the linked video here:

Sounds a lot like a 'Lego' game to me, and not in a bad way either. I love the character swapping/puzzle element very much. Particuarly the star wars ones. I think this could work very well, what with Unicorns being able to use magic (to maybe open a portcullis?) while a quick switch to the Pegasus flies you across the raised/lowered drawbridge? Yep, this has caught my interest ^^

Best of luck with it, and welcome to Everypony!

Well, that's funny. No one has ever mentioned that before. Although I see where you could draw such conclusions, there aren't exactly any things in terms of 'Lego'. There will be a bit of pushing/floating objects around, but I wouldn't exactly relate it to Lego x)

    Thanks

More the gameplay of the lego games, where it's all about having parties of characters with specific talents and you need to use them altogether to bypass certain puzzles and obstacles - I actually don't care for the lego art style ^^!

I gotta be honest, I don't understand what that has to do with Lego, but that is surely what we're aiming for, so...! ^_^

    Thanks

The LEGO games like LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Pirates of the Carribean or LEGO Batman.

They don't have to do with building, but they actually do have a strangely distinct playstyle. Then again, there are a bunch of games where you have a group with different talents and use them to bypass puzzles.

Just a quick bump to confirm that we are still actively looking for people to fill the specified positions.

    Thanks

Probably not the best place to be recruiting, have you tried submitting articles to EQD or DHN? It "might" be worth submitting this to indiedb.com or similar too. You have enough concept screens to make it look promising to some aspiring talents. The problem is, they really need to be bronies. Ah!
Equestriagaming.com is a good bet too! As well as all their affiliates and associated forums :)

Hm, yeah you may be right. Eventually, we have managed to get so much stuff done so we might actually be able to compile a nice submission for EQG. I'll give it a try asap ^^

    Thanks

To anyone in doubt, no, we're not dead. In fact, we now also have terrain working, as well as a Ponyhoof (FB) page going, for those of you who wants news instant. http://www.facebook.com/SecretsOfEverfree
