This is now a thread for all extraterrestrial life discussion. why? Because aliens are awesome. Roswell Area 51 UFOs all the fun stuff. I can't be the only believer on the site.
Wow, aliens. To be honest, aliens are awesome. Why? because you don't know what they could look like. There is a vast amount of possibilities in our universe that can hold some sort of life besides us! We are just a single microscopic dust particle within a massive, infinite expanse of space. Life is a possibility, if we can be on a single planet in a single galaxy that holds life, then maybe is other galaxies there can be one planet that holds life. We are always uncertain of the answers and what hides behind the door of time and space. All that we know is that there is another world, doing the same thing we are doing, and they are trying to find us, as we find them.
I don't believe that we are alone in the millions of universes and galaxies out there. Its physically impossible.
What if ponies are real and they are aliens? What if they were just copied from another planet by Lauren Faust like in Futurama?
wooooo believers. we can't even see the whole universe. I think to not believe is crazy. as long as they don't start a war, it's awesome. it makes me think of Mass Effect. We can't see the end, so what if there is a huge space war happening out there.
I find the possibility that we are alone a centillion to one. To put it lightly, let's just say that is 1 + 360 zeroes after that one to one. However, I doubt that there is much sentient life. I've no doubt in my mind that we aren't alone. But I do have doubts as to whether there is a civilization out there more advanced than us. We were, technically, one of the first galaxies to form after the 'Big Bang' per se.
Yeah, we can't be the only ones. It makes no sense to me to say that we're the only planet to harbor life. We've only observed such a small portion of the universe, there's no doubt in my mind that there are other civilizations out there. I frequently think about this. I also wonder if we are constantly being observed by some sort of alien race as well.
Infinite universe + plentiful ingredients for life = Yep.Aliens are real...however sapient aliens are a lot less likely.
but what If these planets hold resources we've never seen or even contemplated to exist. The oldest dinosaur fossil is 250 million years old. if other planets have life they could be just as old. I doubt one species coild survive that long, but you never know.
There may even be life in this solar system besides us. Best chance of finding it is in the water and ice of Europa, Jupiter's icy moon. I find it near statistically impossible that we're the only advanced life forms in the universe.
Considering we've found Earth-like planets in our galaxy (Kepler-22b for example), just makes it so obvious to me that life must exist elsewhere.
according to the conspiracy theorist, reptilian aliens walk among us. they control the government man.
Hm, I do think there is a high possibility of life being out there, but then because the universe is so FREAKING BIG, we can't find them. Remember, the Milky Way alone is over 100,000 light years across. That is a huge distance, and that's just in a straight line. There could be well over a 1000 civilizations out there with our level of technology or higher and we would have no clue that they were there.
