I won't be letting anyone IRL that I know I am a Brony. First of all my brother wouldn't shut up about it because he imagines himself as an internet badass. (He's one of them people who will quote a meme in every situation and think he's funny) Secondly, my parents, good lord I dread them every finding out, end of. Lastly, the people who I consider "mates" and "friends" tend to drag things out over a prolonged period when it comes to personal things like this, and well, that's just something I don't want to have to go through...again. That said, I think everyone on my Steam friends list knows I'm one with the profile pictures and things ^^
I glad I told everyone, the only down side is having to defend the show and myself from the people at work, but that's why then invented headphones.
I don't think I'd like your brother too much XD I hate memes and what-not. But if you really think it's best not to say anything and you'e comfortable doing so, then you should do it LOL, I guess so, dude XD
I made a new convert today and he is the class socialite. I am pretty sure most of my class will be bronies eventually. Only people who might not are some that hate cartoons altogether. Coming out was the best thing I ever did. My class doesn't even joke about it, much and when they do it's in a loving way. As if they are saying 'confound you, if I end up watch this show it's your fault'. One of my classmates and closer friends wrote Fluttershy for a word while we were playing hangman. It is so much fun waiting for the next MLP reference to come out of someone's mouth, most of which they learned from my presentation not from having watched the show yet. I was able to proudly say to my lecturer in front of the class. I am doing My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic for my research assignment. This caught him off guard more then it did the class and he was the only one that laughed. I'm so Happy.
^ This. Is. Amazing! That's great news. I'm glad it's working out so well for you. I wish I could have the possibility of some MLP:FiM-related stuff happen to me IRL on a regular basis. I'm happy for you.
Well, I wouldn't say I'm a closeted brony... my siblings, as a result of me, are bronies too.. XD But they're younger than me anyways... so I don;t think it counts for much I've told one friend about it, though... and she was perfectly fine with it Eventually I'll start wearing the shirts, when I get them. I wouldn't be brave enough to do a presentation for sure... but maybe I could convert several friends I hope ^_^ Now, just to get the friends other than the first one... XD
Selectively closeted? I've mentioned it to some friends, but a few of my girl-cousins were into it before me, though my passion is obviously a bit further than them since I follow the fandom much closer. My brother disapproves quite a bit along with my uncle, so I don't mention or reveal it around them. A long time online friend I managed to convert to a brony, as well as a few others. The most important person is my older sister, whom is the only real life person that has my writing. Everyone else only knows of it, but will never see it (zomg secrecy!). She's been fairly supportive of me, but mainly supports the fact that I'm willing to write and learn about it at all. Since this show was the basis and inspiration, she's a well of encouragement and empowerment. It's quite nice, especially since some of the reviewers from Ponychan and EQD attempt to crush any minor flaw in fanfiction.
Where did you get this t-shirt and does it come in double XX Mens? This is important. Well, I'm pretty comfortable in my stable, I wander out to tell some people once in awhile, but I spend more time in the stable. As for what got me into the show I don't know. Someone posted a link to some fluttershy clips then I watched the first couple episodes and I loved it.
That's cool man :3 You have more courage than I do XD I always preferred this site in comparison to 4chan or Panychan XD
@ snowy, My friend gave me a choice, be a beacon of LOVE and tolerance or be a /b/tard. He tried to get me over to the hateful side of the internet, but I like being a positive pony. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
I suppose I'll give this topic a lil' bump. Save it from the third page of the forum. I guess this is a little update about being in the stable. Lately, I've been a little bit "ballsy" if you will. Well, for me, at least. During one of my breaks between classes while on one of the university's computers I was playing some Facebook games and in another tab I had YouTube open with some pony music on. Two things: 1) We are allowed to play games, provided the lab isn't full, which it wasn't even close to being full. 2) I had earbuds, so nobody else could hear it. However, they could see it on the screen if they happened to walk by and look while I was on the YouTube tab. One of my friends, while I was doing this, sat next to me and began talking to me about unrelated stuff. After a while, we ran out of conversation so we decided to do our own things on the computers we were at. I was still listening to pony music with my friend sitting right next to me, although he couldn't hear it. I did notice that once in a while he would glance over at my screen (I, admittedly did the same). I don't know if he "caught" me with ponies on YouTube. He didn't say anything to me. Also, I told at least one member on here that I'm seriously considering getting a shirt now. After watching what people wear on my college campus, I'm beginning to convince myself that it may not be a really big deal. I still want to go with something subtle, but I haven't seen anything I want yet.
http://shirtsbyshift.spreadshirt.com/ It's probably been suggested a billion times here but I got this one not long ago. I've gotten a few reactions to it. None of them negative but alas, no bronies. It doesn't scream MLP like some of the other apparel does but it's easily well known enough for others int he subculture to get.
