INFINITE galaxies. INFINITE planets just like earth. And you're wondering whether we're the only one with civilization?
If they are out there, maybe we'll find one more screwed over than ours. Aliens have never been a big interest of me anyway. Cryptids are where it's at! *Goes hunting for sea monsters*
I do, I take Nessie out for din-din every thursday. Lots of people go missing around the Loch on thursdays.
The thing is, if we were to go to another planet and intrude upon them, the technical definition would make US the aliens. I'm sure aliens are out there somewhere, but I REALLY just want us to stay on Earth. If we go to another planet, who knows what idiots could totally screw things up.
I personally believe: As vast as the universe is (as far as we know), there has to be something else living out there, and probably something sentient as well. However, I do not believe humans will ever come into contact with another race anytime in the near future (maybe several hundred to a thousand years), mostly due to the sheer size of the universe, and that is discounting any theoretical multi-verses. Concerning Area 51: While I do not doubt that secret or advanced technology is kept and developed there, I doubt there are any aliens or UFOs stored there. Think about it. If there really was an alien life form or craft of some kind, there is no way even the US government could keep it secret. Someone would tell someone who would tell someone who would tell the media, at least I would assume. As for the Roswell incident: I have researched this and watched documentaries of it, and still can come to no definitive conclusion as to what the heck that capsule-shaped thing the US military carted off was. I've heard it had hieroglyphic-looking markings on it, but that may or may not be true. With a gun to my head, I would guess it was some sort of experimental space capsule that the US didn't want other countries to know about, or maybe even launched by another country. So much for the topic of Aliens.
The only thing that struck me is that for say that we went or viewed another planet and has life on it and life happens to look like another human. Would they call them Humans or something different and how would they look at us if they asked the same thing? This just bugged me for awhile for what is out there. I do look up in the sky a lot in the night, hoping to see life or go to another planet. A man can only dream.
This type of topic scared me when I was a kid. There was this one movie that I saw with a family being terrorized by greys. Which I believe is based on this story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly–Hopkinsville_encounter However, I forgot the name of the movie. Its worth watching and scary too.
I know that one. Not the movie, the encounter. As a kid I was more obsessed with aliens then I am now. I'd get every book on aliens I could find.
I always feared that a light would appear at my bedside window and they would abduct me. x< Then the stories that are told here in Mexico made me more uneasy.
Oh i defenatly believe in aliens! How can i not, if i am an X Files fan.=) And not only this, but i actualy have had an interesting experience myself. You see. One time, when i was little, we were on holiday with my mother. So we went to tourist camp. And there it happened- the sight seeing of an UFO. So we were walking down a beach to our tourist house with 2 random guys that we did not know. And then we saw a strange metal flying object in shape of an egg. It was just flying slowly in the sky, but not to high, so we could see it perfectly. It was definitely made of some kind of very bright and shining metal and it had a cockpit also! Well maybe it was not a cockpit, but i think it was. And the thing is that we actually ALL saw it. Not only me or my mother, but those 2 guys also. I need to mention it so you would not consider me a crazy person.=) Of course the first thought was that this thing may be some kind of top secret military jet, but then something even more strange happened. It just stopped flying and started hovering. But it's hovering was very strange. Its like it was stuck in the sky- it was not moving even a bit. And then suddenly it just bursted into the outer space! Right from the point of its hovering. And it's burst was SO FAST that be barely noticed it. Like it actualy did vanishe into a thin air! So if it was indeed a top secret military Jet, then we guys, are TOTALY fooled about REAL modern technologies.=) That's the story of my experience.
I think that there is a high probability that Aliens could exist. As many before me have said, the universe is so vast, it's almost impossible for us to be alone. As for whether we'll ever contact them, well that would require many of the laws of physics (as we currently know them) to be broken before we can even begin to make the technology to do it. We'd need to be able to travel faster than light to actually get to distant galaxies without dying of starvation. Although another way we could contact them is if the aliens come over to us.
