ye, and before that, we torture them in horrible prisons from their day of birth. But that's ok, i guess, as long as we don't eat them alive.=)

BTW, that does not mean that you are allowed to kill animals freely. Not all christians will agree that you can kill them only because you are closer to God and more important for him. One christian monk have said to me that actually christianity does not aprove meat eating. And that you can actually find the proves of it in the Bible. He also said that alot of saints were encouraging people to stop eating meat.=)

Same, though you could list me as a 'liberal' Catholic. I think both sides are correct in some ways.

Actually we let them roam free in fields and kill them quickly once they reach a certain age.

PETA. Even though they kill more animals than they "save".

I saw a lot of farms like that where i used to live...i miss the suburbs....now i live in a run down suburb in a crappy crime infested city.

Come to Arlington, Texas, quite literally the biggest small town.
Low unemployment and crime rate, nice communities (For the most part), that kinda stuff.

i love eating meat, but the last years we normalky just eat meat that was taken from animals that also lift in free farms. Huge grasslands and that stuff. Chicken running aroung free etc. the meat is more expensive but i dont feel bad eating it.
They have a good live as a cow on the fields and have a really painless and fast death.

Still does not sound good to me, sorry.=) Why people just don't let them live till they die on their own.
Not to mention, that not in every country you can find such organizations. In, Russia, for example, it goes exactly as i described. And i defently would not say that they don't feel the pain. You know, because of all these terrible noises that you can hear from everage slaughterhouse.

Because if we let them die of old age they won't be as fresh or healthy. Or tasty.

Farming is not very developed these days in Russia. And private farming is in the worst condition. So...we commonly receive our meat from slaughterhouses.
And that's even not my point, ok.=) My point is that violence and murder, in general, are bad things. And even if they are necessary. That's why our realm is quite inperfect. But that does not mean that we can't do it a little better. By starting to eat an artificially grown meat, for example.
I guess, i just don't have anything to say to you guys, as long as i see your point and, obviously, you see mine.=)
So let me be buddhist, you be christians, and lets just hug and talk about something else, shall we.=)
