First of all, we can eat not only meat.=) Second of all, we can eat artificialy made meat in future. So let's just say, that your argument is partly valid.=) And of course we need "animal killing" meat nowdays, i am not saying that we should stop eating meat right now. All i am saying that i hope there will be a day when we can stop killing animals in order to live properly. That's my point.

In the matter of fact, he IS. And that's why our realm, as i wrote, is inperfect. But he is doomed to be evil. And we are not.

Sometimes, you have to do what you have to do. But sometimes, you can change something. Artificialy Made Meat is such case. For example.

How exactly is the wolf evil by getting the nutrients for life?

He is evil because he is obviously hurting someone and destroying life. All is simple- destruction is evil, creation- is good.

Well but the taste is important to get "ignorant" people to like it. The most wont give up real meat for something that tastes like paper just for its nutritious factors. I dont want to rant about americans, but they ahave so much obesity... so actually the most just care if it tastes good.
Yeah they will try and if they succeed and it is healthy and so on and affordable i would try it. why not? But artificial grown things have a higher possibility to be well bad for you or the nature.

He is not evil because he is not even conscious about good and evil. Good and evil are things invented by humans and should no be used on animals. Its his nature. it is also our nature to reproduce and well humans are pretty good at that and do it.
The wolf is a carnivore he NEEDS meat to live. And if thats a reason why our realm is bad, then i enjoy being bad.

By that logic, all life is evil, like a cow eating grass, grass is alive, and therefore the cow is being destructive and by that argument is evil.

    Good and Evil are relative.

Again, as Hatta said, who decides what's moral? Is it you?

Simply put, yet also not due to it's vast complexity, there is no black and white. Excuse me being blunt here, but saying something is evil simply because it differs with your morality is rather naive. As Valkyyria said, good and evil are terms created by humanity to gauge a sense of morality, and animals do not have the same sentient thought we do that constructs such thoughts.

Now I'll play Devil's Advocate here, if the wolf is not a sentient being and is unable to comprehend good and evil, which is the reason why he kills to eat, then couldn't one make the argument that because he lacks this humanity it's humane to kill him for food as well?

    Edit:

Before you go making claims of validity, you need to consider the possibility that Sparky and I brought up that lab-grown meat will never be economically possible on the scale you're suggesting. We're still in the research stage so assuming the most positive outcome isn't the way to go about this.

Not knowing something does not make it unreal.

That's only one point of veiw. Strictly materialistic one, i would say. And how about ideas of infinite cosmic good and evil, ideas of God and Satan, the idea of karma ? Do you have any solid arguments to prove that all these ideas are fictional ?=)
btw, you can go even futher and proclame that they should really not used on people too. If there is no cosmic good and evil why should we care about some stupid thoughts and emotions in our brain ? Lets just do what we want and have fun.=)
Sorry, i totaly disagree with you. For me there is obviously one right way- and it lies in creation, not destruction. As for animals, they are surely more inperfect creatures, then we are, because they can't even understand the laws of the universe.

Not all life is evil. But there is alot of evil in it, yes. That's why our world is imperfect, as i wrote many times allready.

But there is a possibility that this all will work out, isn't there ?
And what's wrong with my argument about eating not only meat ? There are vegetarians around the world you know. So, actualy, his argument not so valid. Mostly because of my argument about eating not only meat of course. But anyway.

And again that's only 1 point of veiw. The materialist one. And i can't agree with it.
I am sorry, maybe my english is not so good. Do you mean that if wolf kills, we have a right to kill him aswell ?

And there's your problem. You sir, are narrow-sighted and probably blinded by YOUR beliefs. The thoughts of the minority should not rule over the majority, nor should the majority overrule the minority without thought. You bring up good arguments, but you lack basing anything off of anything but your beliefs.

Good and Evil are concepts that gauge the impact of morality between sentient beings. It simply isn't a thing that has always existed; we gave it existence.

Consider this: A Sparky Black Hole is a anomaly which tears apart countless Solar Systems, Planets, Stars, and even possibly life. Now, hypothetically, if it's responsible for the loss of not just life, but the extinction of billions of species, does that make it evil, or is it simply an act of nature and/or the universe? The same could be asked of any forms of nature here on Earth, are tornadoes and hurricanes evil, or simply nature?

While I, Sparky, and snow, would love to argue these points, there's an entirely different thread on the subject, as well as the fact that we're not going to debate the facts on something that cannot be proven or disproven.

Cool it down a bit. I understand this is a debate but it can escalate quickly.

I see what you did there...

But no. IT is impossible for a black hole to be evil simply because it is not even alive. Its a hole in reality.

And what about killing in self defense? Is that evil?

You're missing the point here, but you also bring me to my next.

The black whole is not alive, it is not conscious, it is not sentient. It cannot physically comprehend what it's doing in the universe despite the destruction it wreaks in it's path. So why does it do this? That's simply how it was made.

Now compare this to the wolf. It's not conscious of it's actions. Like the black hole, it's not sentient and cannot comprehend the concept of good and evil. Again, this is how the wolf was made.

Now why is it important when we look at how it was made? Look at the scale of... well, just about everything. Everything relies on the destruction of another, it's a fundamental concept in our universe.

Animals eat other animals, which eat plants, which eat nutrients, which are left behind from the decomposition of the dead animals.

It's chain, and when one of the links go missing, the entire chain will shatter.

    But let me reiterate:

I know, I was getting straight to the point, even if it DOES sound a little harsh.

But you, sir, and all others sirs and dames, also have your own beliefs! What proves do have that there is no ABSOLITE evil and good, no God and Satan, no law of karma ? You are TOO blinded by your materialistic beliefs. I can say it too.
So in the end. It's just the matter of your metaphysic ideology, is it not ?
Actualy, if we are into solid logic, we just can't continue to argue. Because we all have no arguments to prove that we are totaly right.
That means the only solution is just to spell out our points of veiw and that's all.
So...maybe we should stop the arguing ?
Let's just don't waist time and mana:
I think there is good and evil in the world. I think there is something more then this materialistic world. And i think that the true path lies in creation, not destruction. That's why i think we should not kill animals or hurt them! And that's totaly my IMHO.

So. How about that ? I think i am done.=)

We never said there was no good and evil....you jumped to a conclusion.

What we said is.There is a grey area between the two.

Animals lie in that grey area leaning good. They dont understand good and evil.
