Looking at the projections currently, it appears Obama is dominating the swing states, once Florida or Ohio goes to him, Romney has no way left to get to 270. If I was a betting man, I would choose Obama as the POTUS. - - Auto Merge - - Current Electoral Votes: Obama: 243 Romney: 188 - - Auto Merge - - New: Obama: 249 Romney: 203 - - Auto Merge - - OBAMA HAS WON Obama WILL be serving a second term!
Haters are gonna hate but I actually wanted Romney to win. Both of the candidates are bad but I think Romney would help the economy better. Well I'm Canadian so it doesn't effect me as much as an American but it still effects me non-the-less.
That's because Obama pretty handily swept the swing states, the ones that would make all the difference.
This part is real important guys: Senate: (Still two undetermined seats) Democrats: 51 Independants: 2 Republicans: 45 House of Representatives: (17 seats TBA) Democrats: 187 Republicans: 231
It'd be funny if Obama has 343 instead of 303, that way people could say Halo 4 supported the President.
Well, Florida isn't decided yet, but it's more than likely going to go Obama, as he has a 1% lead there currently
All right! I'm kinda glad that, in the first election I voted in, the guy I voted for won. That's a cool feeling.
What I find that people don't get is that both candidates are pro-business. Obama is pro-business with concessions to the workers. He is not and never was anti-business. To be different, Romney went all in on being pro-business at the EXPENSE of the workers. It would not have been good for the common man. If I owned a business or made $250000+ a year, I would have been supporting that view. But I don't make that much. :derpe: I'm glad it's over and that the robocalls will stop. I was more worried about some state ammendments that were proposed. Fortunately, the only ones that went through were a couple veteran and elderly homestead issues for housing taxes. And I'm okay with those. I'm glad the others didn't pass. Sent from my EVO 4G Shift using Tapatalk 2
I wish more citizens here would do this. Write to your House Representative and your Senators. Let them know your views on important issues. Urge them to work with the other party. We have to work towards common sense and unified, bi-partisan goals if we are going to get anything done. Either side taking a contrary position for no other reason than because the other side likes the idea makes no sense. Ideas and proposals should be weighed on their merits regardless of who they come from. Also, "pork" and addendums that get added to bill proposals need to stop; abortion or health care (for example) has NOTHING to do with defense funding bills. Just stop it.
I am gobsmacked it was so close to Romney winning at first. If you think about it, the people who voted for him are: - Homophobes - Sexists - Religious nutjobs (the ones who clearly don't read their own preachings because apparently God ordered an abortion in one instance because it was the loving, caring thing for the mother and her child. Plus it never said anything about homosexuality being a sin) - The people who were dumb enough to believe his propoganda - Kids who don't understand jack sh** about the implications of what would happen to them because they just wanted the "homos and *****s" to leave above all else - The people who didn't even bother to look at Romney's plans for the country and it's economy: - The people who believe Obama is the worst that could ever happen to the country because he didn't sort a massive massive massive massive problem quickly enough for them. Impatient buggers, you want quick change? Get ready to pay an ungodly amount more tax and give up more rights, because then your country will have money pumped into the system that you'll probably never get back, straight away! - Those who thought Obama didn't care, because clearly Romney loves people of any colour or creed /sarcasm - Greedy rich businessmen who didn't want to lose their billions, which they'll probably still earn anyway, despite the fact you can very very very very easily live off just $1 billion in the first place Even if Obama won, which I am very very happy for, the fact that the people on the list above exist scares me. He wanted to utterly destroy any classes lower than the upper to preserve, the upper. So a member of the middle/lower class disregarding the reasons above should have in all logic not voted for him. Unless they weren't sound of mind.
Poetic has mentioned this a few times, but I'll say it again since it's pretty important. When it comes to change, slow and steady wins the race. Take the frog in the boiling water example. If the water is suddenly changed, the frog will jump out. Likewise, for quick change to happen, conditions will become very uncomfortable. If Romney came to power, the frogs (Americans) would jump right out of the pot and cause a mutiny. However, if you slowly boil the frog, it will die without realising. Likewise, by slowly changing things, you'll get things done a lot smoother. You probably won't notice the change, so you'll think it'll be a waste of time. But it is benefitting people. I'm probably going to be wrong on this next bit, so please correct me. America's economy increased by 8% (or something like that - either way it improved). So while it may seem to some like Obama did nothing useful over the last 4 years, he has made small improvements. If the future presidents pick up where the previous president left off, then slowly, America would improve.
