So something like this has happened to me three times now, I took a screenshot this time because it appears to be a recurring problem:

As you can see, I've posted the same thing twice, but the odd thing is, I haven't. Occasionally it double (or in one case it tripled) posts automatically, so when I posted it, it shows up like that with the auto merge and a repeat of my post. I go back and edit the post, deleting the repeat so that there's only the original, but it's a tad annoying having to do that quite a fair bit.
If someone could solve this, I'd be grateful

*EDIT* Lol, when I posted this thread it then said "this is a repeat of a thread you have posted in the last 5 minutes", then proceeded to redirect me.

I have this problem occasionally, but I would always put it down to my connection....

Try clicking the "Post Quick Reply" button only once and see if it continues. I had this problem on every forum when I spammed my mouse waiting for it to load. I have yet to have this happen on EPN.

This hasn't happened to me yet. Does it happen with Quick Reply or the Advanced Editor (or both)? It is possible that the double post merger that is the cause. How ironic. I'll disable it for now. Let's see if it stops happening. (if it doesn't then I'ma be a mad pony)

Also, may I ask what browser/s you guys are using?

This happens to me a lot and I use IE. Then when I go to edit my post it takes a while to load. I thought it was just me and my crappy internet.

This happens to me, although it only happens when my internet connection gets a bit slow. I assume that it's because the connection is slow so I press the post button twice, which posts my post twice.

As for the additional information, I use firefox usually, although I use Safari if I'm using the iPad.

Noooooooo! Not the auto-merger! Although I do think that it's a connection issue.

It's possible that it's a combination of both. The post merger does an extra check between you pushing "Post" and the forum adding the message. It's possible that those with a tad slower connection could hang during that check and it'll see it as a repost.

Mini-update. It appears to be a known issue with vBulletin and not some random fluke. Hopefully a patch will be available soon (I really like the auto-merge ;~;)!
