To solve the issues Poetic put forward, here's a pretty easy solution: If an argument ever pops up again in the staff room or anywhere else for that matter, just stop talking, cool your head, take a breather, tell everyone else to do the same, take five minutes, and start again. That's literally all there is to it.
The last thing we need is more nazi mods. Zeph is the only one i can have fun with anymore. Actually we need more DEFINED rules.
It is possible to be strict and fun. Every mod/admin should be able to pull this off before they are even considered to be part of the staff.
lol I was going to say this place is run like a Nazi camp, but I'd probably be breaking a rule as always. At least you understand too. The only staff I have any respect for is Yeti. That reminds me, I broke my promise to him. Oh well.
I'm going to regret saying this, since it may derail this thread, but if this place is so bad, why are you still here? The option to go to a "well-run" site is still available.
I've dedicated so much time to this place and tried to be a good member, but now I just don't care anymore. I'm already frowned upon by staff and the majority of the site's members. I like this forum, but not it's members. I just want to stick around to see the fireworks.
You do know that you're welcome to post your opinions and ideas on how the site/members can improve, much like good ol' Rarit E has just done. Although if you were going to do this, they deserve their own thread, since they are important enough.
I've wasted enough time doing that before. Here, I'll give it another go. Staff: Stop being strict and stubborn. Members: Grow a pair.
That's pretty much what i'm trying to point out here. In the past, i've made a few mistakes myself, and maybe there were times when i've shown my worse side. But being under the impression that people can't change, or rather not seeing that they have changed is not a good thing. I learned from mistakes i've made and now i'm posting this thread. From what i can tell you just want this place to turn around and be more like it used to be, right? Then you try to be more like you used to be. You can't just expect staff members to wave their magic wands and make things the way you want them to be. It's members who make the forum what it is, and by that i mean regulars, new people, and staff members alike. But behaviour like what you're displaying right now isn't helping much. All i'm asking for is a little positive attitude, not just from you, but from everyone. Is it really that hard?
This place was indeed great, and I know more than enough about things in life not going back to the way they used to be. If you want reasoning for my behavior, just talk to Yami or Yeti I guess. At least Yeti acts like he cares and I feel bad for breaking my promise to him, but I can no longer put on a fake smile for this community. There may be hope left here, but it won't come from me.
I believe this is called site discussion, not site arguments, stop with the hostilities and responding to negative people in an aggressive way if you're all truly trying to help. Clearly people haven't learnt from past mistakes and the purpose of this thread. All people need to do is Chill the **** out You want to argue? Take it away from where the sensible people are trying to talk reasonably about problems.
If you want things to be like the way they were, everyone has to pretend like this site is identical to it's past self. It's physically impossible to change the site so it was exactly like it was (unless you have a time machine). Let me put it this way, when you first joined the site, you loved it. I was the exact same. The other members made this place a great place to be. Now the time has come for the older members to host the newer members. We need to maintain the same environment that the previous members created so that the current new members feel the same way about the site as we did. I'll end it there, since I don't want to go on too much. I may make a full thread about the rest of the stuff. But basically, like Rarit E said, the members are what make up a forum. Whether you like it or not, while you are a member of this forum, you are contributing to its environment. Whether you want members to enjoy or hate this place, it's up to you. TL;DR: Cycle of happiness, if you are friendly during your time here, newer members will follow your lead and the next generation of members will also be happy.
