Well also the cows have personality, so maybe the pigs do also have personality and are pets as mentioned before. Chicken are simply hold for eggs. Its not carnivorous to eat eggs. And the Cows give them milk, that they can use for cheese etc. I also cant explain the last image of the sandwich. Since they would not make vegan ham, normally because it wouldnt make sense. But maybe griffons eat ham and spike maybe also eats meat. Well the fish for the ferrets is natural, they eat it even if fluttershy didnt get them some. But it is strange that she fished them.

Bacon. They keep them for bacon. That's the only logical reason to keep pigs. Except pork and truffles and soap and other things, but they don't count.
