So today being Trixie day and all *The second Anniversary of the Boast Busters Episode* I thought it would be nice to make a new discussion thread about everyone's favorite pony, ecspecially since she'll be making an Encore appearance in season 3 with the episode "Magic Duel" So anyhwo with Trixie's impending return, i've been thinking, if Trixie does actually return in the episode as a Flat out villain, really Twilight & co have no one to blame but themselves. I mean think about it, Trixie was merely a traveling show mare who came to town to perform a show, she wasn't antagonistic torwards the mane-six until they confronted her during her show, which made the experience less then enjoyable for both parties obviously, then near the end she had her caravan, which was essentially her home destroyed by an Ursa Minor which Snips & Snails brought to town just to prove to Spike Trixie could do what she said she could, and to add insult to injury she was flat-out embarrassed & upstaged by Twilight. In the end of the day I for one say her revenge is deserved. I mean sure she was a braggart, she was pompous and arrogant, but not evil, she is a show mare after all, or was, and one has to puff themselves up to perform in front of others at times. So yeah, I do wonder how her return will play out, if Twilight will realize she along with the others made Trixie the villain she may become in the return ep, Will Twilight redeem herself & Trixie by offering her friendship to the jaded mare after all is said & done, or will the two forever be enemies!?
Maybe I missed something, but I didn't sense the tension between Twilight and Trixie. Not the kind you would see with rivals.
Your missing the point my friend, the point is Trixie is coming back later this season, from the previews/spoilers we've gotten about her episode seems she's not just still in the "Minor Antagonist" Bracket, but may be a flat out Villain this time around, if so my argument she is one the Mane six unintentionally created, due to what happened in the episode boast busters. There was indeed no tension in that ep, but we all know Trixie most likely blames Twy & Co for what happened to her.
Spoiler Trixie is just a troll. If they ignored her back when she came around the first time, she would've finished her show and left right after. But then they gave her attention and now she's coming back for more.
well, personally, I don't think Trixie will come back as villain, but more like Twi's rival. StereoPony's points stand, but I don't think Trixie was drive n by evil, but more on her wish to be better than Twilight. So, I don't think Trixie will come back to destroy everything and bring total chaos, but more to challenge Twi in magic duel, for which she's been practicing in her absence, and try to restore her ego by defeating Twi. (inb4: quote Rainbow Dash: "Since when does Twilight ever fail", maybe we'll get answer to that soon (if we ignore all past fails))
Heres some leaked preview images from the Episode, Trixie deffinantly comes back as more then a Rival/minor antagonist Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler it seems trixie Flat out takes over Ponyville with whatever dark powers that amulet gives her, my overall point was, it was most likely Twy & co that are the overall reason for her resorting to such means But yeah can't wait for the episode to see what happens, personally i'm hoping we get an ending like this. After all as said, in the end I don't think Trixie is evil, she just wants people to acknowledge her thats all, she just doesn't always go about the best way in doing such.
I don't think she's really evil I think that she might be jealous of Twilight Sparkle either that or she becomes Twilight's rival like Goku and Vegeta.
Please don't call me "friend." Nothing personal, it just makes me uncomfortable. Anyways, here's my opinion: She never was a villain, and she won't become one. We'll just have to wait and see.
Either she's going to try to be the good guy, but fail (Lawful bad?) OR Be the bad guy but look like the good guy (Big Brother's watching you) Either or, looks like Ponyville going 1984ish and Trixie's going to make herself a cult of personality.
I have always thought that the entire conflict in "Boast Busters" could have been avoided had they just let Trixie do her thing. She (Trixie) wasn't doing anything wrong, the boasting was part of her act. All they had to do was ignore her and there would never have been a problem to begin with, in my opinion. But yes, I am thrilled about Trixie finally coming back! I knew they would bring her back eventually.
I can see your point but it isn't Twi's fault as she never wanted to deal with trixie,but her friends took it too personal and wanted to protect twi's honor.. Or they saw that trixie is so narcisistic and wanted to show her she is not the best as they did with dash when she fought she was a hero Anyway its not twi's fault ,she just saved the town from that bear.
True, and yeah the Ponies seem to get annoyed by bragging way to easy, they let both Trixie & RD's bragging get to them in the past, they really need to work on that, hey, maybe that can be a future episode, learn to not let others boasting bother you, all it does is make you seem insecure *but then again RD & Rarity are kind of insecure ponies XD* I can kind of understand AJ getting all up in Trixie's grill in Boast busters since she's an old fashioned work horse & all, but yeah, the others, they were just kinda being jerks interrupting Trixie's show. At this point I kind of look forward to seeing how everyone's favorite show-mare gets back at them, more then her duel with Twilight.

But yeah I think at the very most after this episode, if it does have a "Happy Ending" for both parties involved the heroines (Twy & the mane six) & the antagonist (Trixie) I could see the gal being added to the side/supporting/background cast (along Big Mac, Cheerilee, the Cakes etc) considering how popular she is with certain parts of the fan base, maybe like Luna we'll see her get guest-spots in an episode ever other season XD *seriously show needs to utilize Luna more often* But ahh yeah, this is deffinantly an episode I can't wait to see! But alas I have still 9 days to wait, as this Saturday's episode is focused on the CMC and Applebloom's cousin Babs Seed *whom I am guessing is the daughter of their Auntie & Uncle orange, other wise it just doesn't make any sense.*
I can definitely see Twilight and Trixie being a sort of Goku and Vegeta. And Trixie is no Discord, so I believe that in Magic Duel, the beef will be resolved in one way or another.
