I've never liked any Sonic game to be honest. I think Egoraptor kind of gets the point where only the first few levels are really fun as a Sonic game, and then it devolves into just another platformer because of all the added stuff like platforms and whatnot, which to me isn't all that special.
Meh, Colours was a little easy, yeah... But Sonic games were never overly difficult anyway. Apart from the last boss on the older games, where they'd just give you 0 rings, and send you in- Make one single mistake, you're screwed. XP Edit; PAGE 1600!!
Re: General Chat Thread 3: It's No Use! Sonic games have never had much story, so I'm not sure what you mean there. You're also the first person I think I've ever seen that hated Super Mario Galaxy. I haven't played it myself though. And Zeph, what if Sonic does end up being another platformer? The levels are still well designed and the controls really tight (usually, not so much Sonic '06 and Unleashed). Also pleasant graphics and visuals and usually awesome soundtracks. I loved galaxy 1! Its galaxy 2 they messed up by making it just mario in space and storywise: 06 had a great storlyinwe with time travel, and taking down the id of a god. and unleashed had the very planet split apart due to a being meant to smasdh the planet up every billion years and then go back being woken up by eggman, who used a machine to literally RIP the chaos emeralds out of super sonic, the negative energies forcing sonic to become a beast ( wich had intresting story opportunities that got wasted) as sonic fought basically demons at night as the werehog, while smashing up eggman`s robots, as the doctor tried to harness the beings energies to make his own messed up country ( and suceeded!) and it also had the most epic super sonic fight on the xbox edition.
Oh, I loved Mario Galaxy! Mario Galaxy 2 was enjoyable too, but should have never existed. Mario Galaxy just didn't need a sequel. And it definitely was not as good as the first. I haven't played Mario games since the "New" series killed it for me though.
There was time travel in sonic adventure 1, sonic cd, and shadow the hedgehog, this is not a new concept.
Colours at least had a great super cheesy theme song. No matter how awful they truly are, Sonic songs are awesome to me.
Never played Adventure, CD was awesome, and really disliked Shadow the hedgehog... And the time travel bit on Shadow was clearly so generic I can't remember it at all. In fact, I remember little of the game. CD was awesome though, a very enjoyable game with some sweet music. I guess it depends how the "Time travel" thing was done. Does it work smilar to how CD worked? Or in another way? It's how sonic music's supposed to be... nice 'n cheesy.
the only times you see it is : 1. when silver and blaze are sent back in time by mephiles ( the intelligant half of the evil god) to kill sonic, since they have been told killing him will prevent iblis ( the unitelligant half of the god, who pretty much nuked the world, cant be killed normally, and is a giant lava monster) 2.When silver and shadow get sent back in time to when the god was split into mephiles and iblis when they fight using dual chaos controls. 3. and another when sonic goes back in time to save princess elise from dieing after eggmans ship crashed, killing him and elise. 4. also near the end when mephiles kills sonic wich makes elise cry, releasing iblis who was trapped inside her ( Long story) and becoming solaris, he eats most of time and space, forcing the heroes to quickly go through different level segments as time breaks down to get the chaos emeralds to revive sonic, who then goes super, makes shadow and silver super, and proceed to beat the fudge out of solaris by killing its conciousness. Its really worth atleast one playthrough, if just for the sub plot where shadow considers( based on proof future!mephiles provides that omega was reprogrammed to kill shadow). Yeah, its like that.
Steam has it, and now they added sonic adventure 2. but theyve had the cheek to have battle as a dlc ( wich is kinda fair, battle was basically a rerelease with some extra features)
Re: General Chat Thread 3: It's No Use! Gamecube, PS3, 360. Take your pick. Both adventure games are on all 3. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2
