I know I've seen a thread or two where things like this have been mentioned here or there, but I don't recall a thread specifically for this purpose. I'm curious as to how many of you have MLP:FiM on your mind while not on the Internet. You know, in that dreaded awful place we call "the real world"! So, do you have MLP:FiM on the mind IRL? If yes, what exactly do you think about and/or what triggers these thoughts? Feel free to be as random as you like. I'm just wondering if anypony else thinks like I do while not immersing myself with ponies on the Internet. Here are some examples I can think of for me, just to prove to you that when I say "random," I mean "random": Gala apples make me think of the Grand Galloping Gala. Colgate toothpaste makes me think of Colgate the pony. Cupcakes make me think of Pinkie Pie and, unfortunately, Cupcakes. Whenever I look up at the sky to see what's going on with the clouds, I think of Rainbow Dash. When I listen to Green Day's "Fashion Victim", I think of MLP when the lyrics "At the dog and pony show" come up. Whenever my professor writes equations on the board, I think of Applejack's fancy mathematics. I heard someone say "sparkle" the other day and I immediately thought of Twilight Sparkle. I almost thought someone made a mistake when they said "everybody" instead of "everypony." I think of Dr. Whooves when I look at my watch (time doctor, lol). Today I saw a squirrel burying some acorns and immediately thought of Fluttershy's admiration for small creatures. Okay, I think 10 is enough. Get the idea? Feel free to repeat others. It'd be interesting to see if we share some of the same random thoughts. Share as many or as little as you'd like. They can be from mundane to the craziest thing (as long as they're appropriate, of course). So... got pony on the brain? Please share what's on your mind!
My Pony Triggers, as I like to call them, are as follows: Trying to say "everybody" or "everyone".....I get a strange temptation to say "everypony" While whistling. I've nearly tumbled out of the stable more than once by starting on pony tunes! No one has noticed yet, though! Talking about cupcakes, apples, salads or any food a pony might eat. Seeing any of the Mane characters colors together. It could be a complete coincidence, but it still trips my pony madness. I avoid saying "brofist" in case it comes out "brohoof"! Watching the sun rise or set. Listening to David Bowie, but I think that's natural... While daydreaming In math class Any given moment, with the sole exception of when I play trombone. I focus on my music to a fault......If you don't sweat and cramp up while playing, then you're doing it
Heh, once I was at my friend's house, going mental, as usual, and instead of saying 'what the hell?!', I said 'what the hay?!' It was rather unintentional. As for anything else, I only believe I've ever had the urge to replace 'body' or 'one' with 'pony', as in 'everypony', 'anypony', 'nopony' etc. etc.
Yeah. It happens -Cupcakes, especially red velvet, make me think that a piece of dash is in them -Fruit punch. I think "Berry Punch has been here" -Unicorns. I think Twilight Sparkle -Dubstep. I usually get linked back to pony Dubstep or I search it on my own. -20% off sale at the clothing store. 20% cooler, pretty much -Mention of parties, I think "Pfft, Pinkie Pie can do better" -Nighttime, I think Luna and I swear one time I saw the Mare in the Moon -Toy's R Us, I start thinking about the possible pony toys there -Mention of DJ's, I think about my crush on Vinyl........did I say that out loud?
Hmmm interesting thread, but I'm going to go about it a different way. Every so often, I'll post in this thread what pony stuff has been in my mind. That way, I can remember it all better. *awaits ponys entering my mind*
I do these things too. The other day, when I went to ASDA, there was an incredibly vivid rainbow, that looked as if it spouted straight from the Cardiff City Stadium. Since I was with my brony friend at the time, we of course made jokes about Rainbow Dash being a City fan. Aside from that, there are tons of references I make in real life. Sunrise and and nighttime are for me associated with the Princesses Celestia and Luna. Real life equines will of course spring to mind ponies. Any talk of a party will cause Pinkie Pie to spring to mind. Places like Philadelphia and Manhatten will always be spelled wrong from now on. Several others that I just can't think of right now. Quite recently, the same day I saw the rainbow if I recall, we and said brony friend were about to walk down a river path, surrounded by trees. By this time, it was completely pitch black, and it was actually quite scary. We decided to take a route, however, I came up with a plan. Right there and then, I took out my phone, went on YouTube, and played the Face Your Fears Song (Giggle at the Ghostly). We actually took the path in the end. Manly man points were earned that day.
Here are my following. Whenever I see Rainbows/Clouds/Sky/Weather Related Things; Rainbow Dash Books/Being Studious/Learning/Reading; Twilight Sparkle Dubstep/DnB/Music in General; Vinyl Scratch & Octavia (a.k.a. Tavi') Clothes/Style/Neatness; Rarity Caring for Animals/Animals in General; Fluttershy Apples/Apple Related Foods; Applejack Cupcakes/Parties/The color Pink/Randomness; Pinkie Pie Toothpaste/Colgate; Colgate Normally want to say everypony/anypony instead of everyone/anyone. Whenever bad weather happens in Florida I blame Rainbow Dash. (Meh.) *Insert more things here when I think of more.* Those in bold are also some that I think of as well. And yeah you did Affection. :derpe:
Pony Stuff huh? Well this seems to be the list that i have been doing a lot, lately, school and friend's houses. - Saying "What the Hay?" - Listening to MLP:FiM In school and somewhat singing them very softly or quietly so no one can hear me. - Pony words slip out when i think i'm alone. (Just happen today when i was thinking of ponies and shouted out " Big Macintosh, Applebloom") - Finding out if my friend at work is a brony since he says "Sonic Rainboom" when i say "Sonic Boom" from Street Fighter when i hit the inflatable rainbow at work. - Muffins at work and cupcakes...enough said. - I can't look at banana's the same for that Newgrounds flash video. - Other stuff i can't think of. - When i watch a war movie, i think that the allies are bronies as pony form and the enemy are non-bronies but hey, that's just me.
I almost slip-up with "Everypony" vs. "Everbody/Everyone". That's also a hazard of writing the fiction, especially when Trixie and Twilight imprint upon you heavily. Utilizing the word 'twilight' to describe something is especially daunting in the writing since it might sound repetitive. Anyway, I try to apply the show to many things because it's just so damn cheerful and happy. I love its flamboyant nature.
Well, ponies have been in my dreams for some time now. Otherwise, - I drop "20% cooler" sometimes in conversation to identify bronies without blowing my cover - I use the phrase "has gone full cupcakes" to mean someone is crazy
Pony effects in the real world. - saying everypony, instead of everyone. - saying somepony. instead someone. - Quoting, the show(20% cooler, 10 seconds flat, e'yup) - After reading "cupcakes" the manager brought cupcakes, I was less then thrilled. - Looking at the moon, thinking of Luna. I always liked the moon. - Saying Sonic rainboom over sonic boom. Saying somepony, I was lucky no one heard me say it, I was in the stable at the time and that would have killed me to explain.
Well. For openers, when someone utters the word "spike", well - Spike is the first guy I think of! And when someone says "Rarity" - Rarity's the first pony I think of! Same for "Twilight", "Celestia" and "Luna". And you only have to just say "pony" to put my mind on it! Although "horse" will do also.
Thank you to everypony that has replied so far. I'm going to highlight the parts that you and I have in common, in case you're curious: Out of these, there are some things that particularly caught my attention: Not only have I thought of this (hence, why it's highlighted), but I found it amusing how "Mare in the Moon" appears to be a double entendre of sorts. In one way, she's literally a mare in the moon, but also the fact that the dark surfaces we see on the moon are called the Lunar Maria (Plural) or one is just called a lunar mare. Unfortunately, it's not pronounced mare, but mah-ray. At least the spelling looks the same. I have no words that could possibly the describe the awesomeness of this. Although I haven't said the first two phrases IRL yet, I do say "eeyup" sometimes. Although, mostly it's when I'm joking with my brother. You see, one of my brothers is not very talkative while on the phone, so all he says is "Eeyup." So sometime's I'll say it just to mess with him. Although this was long before MLP:FiM, now I think of Big Mac whenever he does that.

As for me, I have a few new ones: I mentioned in the General Chat Thread that I won a $5.00 Dunkin' Donuts gift card. That made me think of Spike's quote, "Another donut! Extra sprinkles!" Today while working on a lab with a partner for a "Principles of Atmospheric Measurements" class, we plotted some points on a graph (Temperature vs. Voltage from a thermocouple) and had Excel find the linear regression line. One of the questions was to use explain how one could use the equation to find temperature with a known voltage, and we were joking about how simple that is because it's just a linear equation. So, I said, "Yeah, these are some serious fancy mathematics we're using." She laughed, but of course I said "fancy mathematics" on purpose. Whenever I see the word "plot" as in today's lab (plot the points), I think of... dat plot. One of the many weather models we use as guidance in forecasting is called CMC, which I believe stands for "Canadian Meteorological Centre," but one time when I looked at it, it dawned on me, "Ha ha! Cutie Mark Crusaders!" I cracked up when I realized that.
Pfft, my mind is like my hard drive...full of Ponies -When the sun rises and I have to get up for class I some times say "Why can't you wait a few more hours Celestia?!) -see muffins, thinks Derpy -see cupcakes....-shivers- - Anything Weather related I think of Rainbow Dash -I never say yes...I say eeyup -today in class I saw the word filly and thought MLP -I say " what the hay" and one time said " you silly filly"
Well, to be honest, I don't anything to make me think of ponies. I swear they're always on my mind 24/7! Some MLP "triggers" I know I've had are: - When I'm eating muffins while on an MLP site (whether it's here or Ponychan), for some reason, I always think "Derpy would be proud of me right now!" same thing if it was cupcakes I nwas eating, except with Pinkie Pie! And, yeah, I guess I think of Cupcakes when eating them as well! - When someone says they want to try to do something, and I think they should, I have the habit of saying "Do it, filly!" - I have yet to unintentionally say "Somepony/everypony" in public. I want to so bad! - One time I was pleased with how the weather was and thought "Dash and the weather team are doing a top-notch job today!" - Like the "somepony/everypony" comment, again, I have yet to unintentioanlly say things "Celestia-darn it!" in public! Again, I want to SO bad! - Whenever I hear someone say "plot", I immaturely snicker and say "plot!" There's probably more than that, just can't remember what they are at the moment.
I've been saying "What the hay?" and "Road apples!" or "Horse feathers!" an awful lot lately. And at work yesterday, one department had cupcakes, and I'm sure you can guess what I thought of. Otherwise, I say "20% cooler" a lot, and speak of going Derpy over muffins, things like that. I've also started calling one of my cats Cassie Pie - as his real name is Casanova, and he goes crazy every once in a while like Pinkie. I also renamed just about everyone on my phone list - my wife is Rarity, my younger brother is Spike, his wife is Trixie (can you guess if I like her or not?), and I can't quite decide if my best friend should be Twilight or Applejack - Twilight because she's a bloody genius, Applejack because she grew up on a farm. She'd probably find Twilight more complimentary.
Lady Gaga=Photo Finish I have to avoid writing everyone on other forums just incase I write everypony Everytime I see a pegasus with a brownish coat that has a weapon I immediately think of Calamity from Equestria fallout I have to avoid thinking about fighting becasue im sure I would forget I can punch people, down on all fours and kick out with my legs lol Apples=Applebucking/AppleJack Red critters=female big Maintosh named red gala Music=Vinyl Scratch
Quoting, as usual. Also, hearing a character's name brings up their mental image. I haven't had the dreams yet though... WHY U NO DREAMS MYSELF? But I do listen to tons of the music. /)^3^(\ I've also said stuff like everypony and 20% cooler in real life... but I don't think family counts. It's a work in progress I guess, but I can't wait till I become a completely open brony.
-Jimi Hendrix (I have MLP and Hendrix posters above my bed.) -My friends who are bronies -My friends who are bronies, and just don't know it yet. (They've already agreed to watch it with me sometime. It's only a matter of time.) -Anything that is cute -Colors (Usually lighter ones, such as pink and light blue.) -Wu Tang Clan (I blame this one on PMV's) -Adventure Time
No real pony triggers for me, but plenty of things that are suddenly being associated with the show are present in my thoughts: Anything that is related to horses will at some point make me think about ponies. My car reminds me of Rarity for some reason, possibly because of its coat of paint. When I see rainbows, I don't immediately think of Rainbow Dash, but I do sometimes. I sometimes imagine how others would look like if they were ponies. Apple-related pastries sometimes make me think about Applejack. Team Fortress 2 has had so much pony-related crossover work, it's hard to not think about them. When mixing something, I sometimes think about Pinkie Pie's cupcake song. Playing as Guile in Street Fighter and using his signature attack, the Sonic Boom - self-explanatory. My favorite sandwich at McDonald's. Eeyup. The words: blank, crusader, cupcake, flank, plot, Philly, luna, wrap-up - among other terms, also seem to be associated with ponies in my mind. I don't go around quoting the show or singing any of the songs, but for the most part it would appear that there is some sort of direct influence that I am beginning to become aware of.
