This thread is super old, but still relevant. There were so many bronies out and about on Black Friday here. I saw the pony section in WalMart and Target loaded with them, as well as Hot Topic.
And I still say I should come to Wal-Mart, where you work, wearing one. That's pretty sick. Which is teenager for groovy, or so I've heard.
I only have one pony shirt, for my favorite pony. Of course since she's pink, I tend to get more than my fair share of... let's just say dirty looks. Honestly, to think we still live in a society where men can't like pink...
I went to the mall again last weekend and saw a kid in the food court with a RBD shirt and was going to go say something, but then he approached us because my brother was wearing his Fluttershy shirt. I also ran into a group of them in Hot Topic. They were crowding the pony merch so I had to wait for my turn.
Well, while I do own a brony shirt, it's a pretty subtle one, and nobody so far got the reference (keep in mind that there are relatively few bronies in Romania, and that the phenomenon is nowhere near here as well-known as on the Internet). So I'm gonna assume that for the purpose of this poll I can talk about my Derpy messenger bag. So far, whenever I drew people's attention to it, reactions have been positive (they all thought it was adorable, nobody thought there was somethuing weird about a guy liking adorable things). Of course, I only showed it to people who I knew would react positively. At school, I've been really casual about it, not even trying to hide poor Derpy from other people's eyes. I've no doubt that everybody in my class at least knows about it. However, only two people have shown any kind of reaction to it: one teacher thought it was weird and one classmate asked what that thing on my bag was (I asked him if he knew about bronies, he said yes, I said I was one, he said I see without any trace of irony, amusement or disapproval and dropped that line of questioning). So overall, a fair amount of positive reactions, one possibly negative one and a crapload of indifferent/non-existent reactions.
I have wore a brony shirt to my climbing gym twice and i got lots of strange looks and one even had some balls to call me g*y so i get negative... But i still wear it cause i'm awesome.
