The big boss man at the theater doesn't really show up that often. Even when he does, he only talks to and yells at the management staff who in turn yell at us minimum wage employees.. Is good news hard to come by? Let's trade! I'm tired of snow and my hands freezing and turning orangish and then purple. Its painful and I don't like it! I miss desert weather..
Trust me, you don't want my summer weather. It's the worst. Sunny every day, no wind, so humid you're covered in sweat the moment you step outside. You can't even breathe for the moisture in the air. The sweat never stops because the humidity doesn't let it dry, so it just keeps building up and up. And you have to walk 20+ miles in this weather while doing heavy lifting.
You found your escape routes? I know I have found a couple.. One nice thing about movie theaters is that there are plenty of entrances to go through! Ever been to a place like Arizona? I guess that's more of a dry heat, but it still gets up there in terms of warmth! I would much prefer that than the cold.. I collapse much more often out of the sheer cold than out of heat. I wouldn't be able to do the heavy lifting part of the job, though.. My weight is back in the double digits. Last time I tried carrying something heavier than me, I was literally crushed. It was a sad, sad sight accompanied by lots of laughter
I had a couple days in the 100s during a dry heat last summer. I loved those days, and they were easy and comfortable to work in. Just had to keep hydrated and it was no problem. Ever been to a place like Georgia? I can't stress enough that humidity is not something to underestimate. I can take a day that's 100+ degrees like it's no problem. It's hot, but easy to deal with. Then there's a day when it's really humid and 80 degrees and it kills me. We average around 95 degrees in the summer, though, and always humid save for rare occasions.
Well, I've been to Florida for a year when I had to live with some relatives.. I still would take that over freezing winters anytime! The humidity was bad there, but I don't know if it is the same as in Georgia.. I still liked the heat, though! Out of curiosity, I have to ask.. have you ever worked in below 0 weather? It honestly gets scary at times.. One of the creepiest moments in my life was walking to the stores on a record low day and collapsing. I honestly didn't know if I would ever get back up. I guess that's one of the main reasons why I despise the cold!
Below 0? No, I haven't. It doesn't get that cold in the winter here. I have almost collapsed during the summer because of heat stroke though.
Heat stroke seems to happen a lot.. Take it you were exhausting yourself working on a nice and hot, sunny day? Woah, things got exceedingly quiet.. What's up?
Back from.. lunch? Isn't it like 3 a.m. over there? Oh, who needs sleep? I avoid it as much as possible!
I mostly don't have a choice. However, I like my sleep, considering I don't remember most of my dreams. Majority of the ones I do... weren't fun.
Sorry, got distracted. And yeah, I was exhausting myself. Despite drinking about 8 bottles of water or more per day in the summer, it wasn't enough to fend it off. The times when heat stroke almost happened was when it was hot, sunny, windless, and so humid I could barely breathe, and I was also sunburned on top of it to increase the heat my mind had to endure. My opinion on cold weather, and I'm going to steal this from Pixel, is that when it's cold, you can put on however many layers you need to feel warm. But when it's hot, there's only so much clothing you can remove before you're arrested. Did I mention the safety vests we're required to wear are deathtraps in the heat? It give the torso no breathing room and just keeps all the heat in. x_x Also, keep in mind that you're very underweight, whereas I'm 300 lbs.
So you pretty much go to sleep when I begin working.. I sleep a couple hours here and there, but it tends to be at random times. The night life is always nice That's my problem! I always dream, and my dreams are evil! I take it you have some form of insomnia? It depends on how many clothes you can afford. I don't have a jacket, but I have a few sweatshirts! The cold still seems to find a way to get in no matter how many layers I wear.. And I forgot about those nice shiny vests! I can't even imagine how much that has got to be a pain on those hot and humid days.. And yes, I'm dangerously underweight, so weather seems to have strange effects on me.
I follow the same philosophy. Aye. Its only transient, but annoying. Apparently caused by my Bipolar.
Good point.. although some nights it does get surprisingly busy here. Take it you're not necessarily a people person? I see.. Not exactly a fun time. Found some methods to sleep anyways?
