    Dear Bronies,

I know, it's a lot of words, but please allow me seven minutes of your time to make my case, four of which will be spent watching a video.

I'm a Brony from Belgium. Yes, that little country in Europe with the beer and waffles and the most offensive word in the universe for a name. Like for so many of you, MLP:FIM brought something into my life I wouldn't give up for anything. I'm what you would call a 'secret brony', not really able to show a lot of love for the show in public or buy a bunch of toys to display or t-shirts to wear. I don't create content or plushies, and haven't been able to catch a single con. But I love the community, for many reasons: the love and support for all things wonderful, pony or not; the amazing things that are done in and though it; but mostly the amazing people that are it's heart.

For me, spirituality is deeply important, and that too I find inside the brony community in some form. Not through religious affiliation or though any kind of relevance to scripture, but because of its love and tolerance towards others and maybe more importantly, towards itself. Few communities are so amazing in their acceptance of each individual member, regardless of their particular race, gender, geographical area or particular proclivities. Everyone is welcome in the Herd if they love Pony and feel the goodness it brings resonate inside themselves, and to me that is a very spiritual thing.

But let me to get to my point. I'm not spreading this message to ask for money for a good cause, even though we tend to give generously to those. I'm not asking for large amounts of work, even though we continue to blow each other’s minds with amazing content. What I'm asking for boils down to 30 minutes of your time to share the goodness residing in us as bronies with the world and the rest of humanity.

Bronies, you draw, you sew, you film, you edit, you sing, you code, you write, you love and tolerate.

    But do you meditate?

I promised you a four minute video. Please watch it and feel for yourself whether you would like to participate.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3boqddWaF1g

If you're still with me, a warm thank you for your attention so far.

I don't know what you've felt watching the video, but I can tell you about my own experience. I feel that this may be one of the most important events in recent history. I feel that this is something that will help the entire world take a big step towards the love and tolerance we hold so dear IF we can get enough people involved. So please, even if you don't believe in meditation or "new-age crap", even if you think this won't help much towards anything, even if you just don't want to participate or are unable to, spread word of this event around. Spread it to anyone who might be interested in participating you can think of, because every person counts. Spread it to some friends across the world, but especially to other bronies.

Why especially bronies? Because just as I feel very strongly about this event, I feel that we as bronies have exactly the right kind of love in our hearts and community that needs to be spread across the world. We as bronies share a disposition the world at large sorely needs more of. And this event is probably th best way we have right now of spreading exactly that.

The meditation is going to be guided, so you need absolutely no experience in meditating to join in and be successful at it. I'm not affiliated with the people organizing this event, so I don't actually know what it's going to be about other than projecting love across the globe. I do know they are experienced in guiding meditations, so I'm sure they will do a great job, but I have a suggestion for a small addition to whatever guidance they will give during the event: Project the love and tolerance you feel as a brony. What form you do this in doesn't matter. You could pick the element of harmony you feel humanity needs the most right now and work with that. Or maybe you'd like to pick your favorite letter to Celestia and weave it's moral into your meditation. Or maybe you can just project the feeling you get when you watch your favorite episode; you know, the one that makes you feel all cuddly and glowy inside.

There will be two meditations on Dec 12, 2012: one at 9.30 pm EST, and one at 9:30 pm JST, broadcast at http://www.themastershift.com Yes, that's Dec 12, not 21. This has nothing to do with the Mayan calendar.

For those of you who feel just as I do that this is a unique and important opportunity for the world, who really want to help spread word of this as far among the fandom as we can, there are a few things we can do to get as many bronies (and others) in on this as possible:

    - Social media
Like themastershift on facebook, follow them on twitter, all that good stuff. Make groups, join the event, let people know.

    Official facebook: http://www.facebook.com/TheMasterShift
    Official twitter: @themastershift

    - Let EQD and other pony sites know about this
If enough people show their support for this, they'll take notice. If they decide to run with it, this will grow exponentially.

    - Ponify the video
If you feel like you can do it before the 12th, go for it! It'll give EQD and the likes a big additional reason to feature the event. Time is a bit short, but we've done crazier things in less time.

    - Your personal contribution
Do whatever you want or can to help spread awareness as quickly as we can. You don't need to do anything but join the meditation if you don't feel like it, but anything you do will help.

If you've read through all that and want to join the meditation on December 12th, thank you. The more people we have, the bigger the results will be. And the more bronies we have, the better those results will be for everyone.

Thank you, you wonderful, wonderful people.

    Sincerely,
    Living Light.

I doubt this'll be the "Biggest event in human history", but it's something that interests me. I may give it a go if I'm not in a lesson at the time, I think. (Maybe)

Also, I'l share it with some friends. :3
Heh, thanks for sharing, Living light!

We tolerate? Since when? People fight each other in this fandom too. Not as bad as say...the Sonic fandom.(Someone who used to be in it told me)
Point is about forty percent of bronies are idiots.

I only watched to first part of the video. I did manage to think about smiling WITHOUT even smirking. And i doubt most people will even care about it.
I feel like this is advertising. Minus the attempt to get money.

World Unity is indeed a grand thought, sadly humans are not as kind or forgiving creatures as the characters in stories we create. In an ideal world, we would have had peace long ago, but the world is not ideal, and it never shall be, but thats not necessarily a bad thing, there will sadly always be bad people, but on the same token there will also be good people, its up to those of us who still have hearts to try our best not to lose them, and be as kind as we can, making a difference on the world scale is near impossible, but its more then possible to spread kindness and what not within your own group of friends &/or community.

World unity will never happen. People will have differences. People will fight. Wars will be fought. Death will happen. It is an inevitable part of life.

Whether you accept this reality or fight for your own reality is up to you.

Being kind and having a heart increases your chances of not being swept up in the cruel world we live in.

Thank you for sharing that, I'm not sure what the video is about as I am not permitted to watch youtube videos,

But from reading by part of what you said it's something to do with meditations. Which I'm afraid I will not be taking part in, you see I am already a Born again Christian, and I don't believe in meditating on anything that doesn't involve My Lord. So I will not be partaking in that respect, nor will I be sharing the video. I hope you understand.

But I do like what you are trying to do, to bring about love and tolerance, I just have different methods of doing so.

I don't really believe this'll help the world, at least not much, and I definitely don't believe it's gonna be the biggest event in human history. XD
Nonetheless, it's not gonna cause us any harm, nor the people or areas around us. What's there to loose, other than maybe half an hours worth of time? Even if it doesn't help, which I very much so suspect it wont, I'd say it's worth a go...

That's how I'm thinkin' about this, anyways.

Literally all the video says is to think about someone smiling. Doing this will make you feel happier (generally). The video also describes this as a form of meditation, since it's focussing the mind on something. It has nothing to do with any other deities.

As for my personal opinion, I'll try and give this a go as long as I'm not in school.

You could always involve God, meditation and prayer are basicly the same thing. Meditation are supposed to connect you with everything around you and the fundamental power, aka God. So basicly do what you have always done while praying.

I am quite intrested myself in this, I might participate, the reasoning here is sound and if nothing else it will help us feel positive.
