    It is said on the Mayan calender, that it will end at that date.
    The Mayan calender does not take into account the longer years.
    If it did, then according to the Mayan calender, the world would have ended about 7 months ago.
    This is why I will do nothing for the "world ending"

    Actually, astronomically speaking, the Mayan Calendar -did- account for leap years; they used the stars as basis for their days, and were actually more accurate with their timing. Strictly speaking, we can expect the end of the world while Americans are mostly sleeping.

    Actually, they predicted the end of their civilisation. The also predicted that a form of God would come to them, although this God turned out to be Spanish and he killed them.

    At least that's what I read somewhere.
