So you think I'm talking about the people from 4chan that started the FiM craze? Well, you would be wrong. Perhaps the people that deserve the most honor and respect are the original MLP fans. Without them, there would be no us. Many MLP fans felt jipped when the brony community formed. I mean think about someone else getting all the attention when you never got any of it! Much respect to these ladies because it took a lot of guts to stand beside a once unpopular franchise. Kudos once again!
The convention I went to had people there for all generations of MLP. The people I met there were really nice and cool about all the generations. Maybe I got lucky, but no one I met was jealous of the new fans, they were all glad to have new people that like it. I was however willing to watch and learn about the previous incarnations and exchanged stories and experiences. So, yes I agree, give them their due, respect and appreciate those that came before us and who are still following along with us now! Sent from my EVO 4G Shift using Tapatalk 2
You've got a point good sir or madame without the original MLP fans there would probably be no bronies or pegasisters.
I couldn't stand the original generations of MLP. That being said, I have a custom-made old generation MLP called "Nightmare." She was painted black and has flaming hooves, and hair that's colored like fire. I also have one of the rub and sniff ponies from G3. She's magnetic!
For some reason I'm glad I was never told about it before I found it. I loved watching the youtube videos before I even knew it was MLP.
If we are talking about the old version, then technically, my mom is a Pegasister. To be honest, I doubt I would try the retro versions. When I first heard about a remake, I felt negative. But thanks to what I call 'the Proto-Bronies & Proto Pegasisters' you guys are pioneers for this amazing franchise. *tips my Applejack-like cowboy hat to ya*
I was on mylittleponytradingpost.net doing research on blind bag ponies, so I got to chat briefly with a few of them and while I was there I read some threads concerning their views on the older generations vs. G4. They almost unanimously love the new show (although for the most part are disappointed with the G4 toy line) but they do not consider themselves to be bronies, which is both predictable and understandable. How they feel about bronies though I don't know, didn't see anything about it, but I've heard the jipped thing before. I for one cannot stand the older generations (although I apparently watched it as a kid, but I don't remember it) however they seem like really nice people.
Even though it was crappy and extremely girly if it wasn't for G1 MLP FiM and the original first series fans then there would be no G4 a.k.a. FiM.
