Sometimes it is enough Ramza, but sometimes it's just more fun to make a bit of a big deal out of it. It might still mean the same thing, but you get the chance to celebrate it with friends and whatnot, have some fun.
Yeah... I suppose it does... It's basically an 'official' way of saying 'You're better than/did something better than someone else. Woohoo!'. Which is why I'm a bit uncertain about wanting to do this. The Pony of the Year thing I can understand, because it's a collective community based project over a very long period of time. (Hence, yearly.) I'm more worried about how often this is rather than it happening in the first place.
At the end of the day, I made this thread with the intention of 'make people feel better about themselves' and give us a reason to celebrate an achievement, however small, so everyone can have a good time and maybe build confidence in their abilities or activities. I doubt you can deny that if you were given an award or two for your work on the site you'd have a lot more confidence in your work.

To be fair, I don't think the specific word choice of that statement catered to you very well... But no matter what, it's hard to help someone who refuses to be helped, no? EDIT: the word "help" is used ever so loosely here.
Well, when the helped person never seems to actually get the help they need. Could you blame them for no longer wanting it? Anyway, if work in this case applies to everything done on the site. I don't want a award to say I helped someone. I'm sure some are overjoyed at the idea of getting one though.
