    Hmm... It worked for me...
    Just practice without a tutorial. Or do what I used to do.
    Trace, then draw over it how you want it to be. Once you have a finalised design, draw it out properly, split it up into obvious shapes.
    Catch my drift?

    I just draw off a reference, if I want to do a new pose, it's either referenceless or there is multiple references, I never used those tutorials
