I have certainly noticed that - people tend to get very defensive when someone criticises MLP. One of my closet-brony friends had his secret leaked and when questioned, he tried to find loads of ways to justify watching the show. I stood next to him and was saying 'What's the point?' but he was so angry with the criticism that he ignored me. It nearly ended up in a fight, and I'm so glad it didn't.
Saying you will love and tolerate is one thing - putting those words into action is another.
Me, personally, I wear my ponies on my sleeve. I'll occasionally wear my pony shirts, or chat about it with fellow bronies, and we don't care who judges us. We are only human. We enjoy what we enjoy, and when we die, we aren't going down in history for liking a girls show.

My point exactly. Like a friend of mine in school can't stand MLP. For what reason, I haven't a clue. I went to school one day wearing a Vinyl Scratch T-Shirt and he facepalmed. He makes fun of me for liking MLP (as a joke of course!) and doesn't understand why I, as well as many others, like the show.

I just don't get why others can't accept things others like. Several people in my school used to see me wearing my Vinyl Scratch shirt on and, since it said "DJ-PON3" on it, they thought it was something else. Like an actually artist (like unrelated to MLP). But when I explained it, they didn't really care.

But the interwebz are a VERY different story. I, personally, believe te because they have nothing better to do than to troll. They have no legitimate reason as to why they hate it. "It's a girl show!" So? I like it because it's funny. Don't like it? Get over it.

    /Rant

The community is better than the show.
And the show is absolutely amazing.
    I've yet to meet a brony I haven't liked.

    ...

I try not to generalize the community. There are a few bronies I've met that I greatly disliked, because of their actions or their distasteful sense of humor.

On here, on EP, there are hardly any bronies like that, which is why I like it here so much. Almost everyone here has a bond, or at least gets along with everyone else fairly well most of the time. But elsewhere...

Even in my own school, there are people who I know are bronies who I avoid. I don't hate them, I always smile and wave when we pass in the hall, I always converse politely when they walk over to talk to me. I do that for anyone. But I don't actively seek them out, which is about as close to "hate" as I get.

Honestly, I think stereotyping the entire community in any way is silly. Individuals should be judged as such, not as part of a group.

Of course, individuals are rated as... Well, individuals.
I'm only a member of this forum which has... I'll tell you exactly how many members in a second.
This, plus the Bronies of Scotland facebook page, where we organise meets in Scotland. It has a good 120-130 members in it. That's really all I know of the community. But every one of them has been really nice to me.
And let's face it - we can like more about a human than a tv show.
But yes, I completely see your point - I did lean towards generalising bronies. I take that comment back.

    It's not a bad comment, I was just saying I disagreed. ^^

I'm sorry if I sounded like a jerk, I'm just bad at wording things like that...

You never sounded like a jerk :p
I don't hold it against someone if they disagree with me. Part of human nature, that is.
I agree with what you said though.
We can agree to disagree....about agreeing? Aw hell naw, now I'm confused xD

There's what I'm thinking. The whole LnT thing is more of a... Situational expression. If someone, say, got into a fight over being a brony (I mean a serious fight) they aren't going to say that they love them, or probably tolerate them. It's up until something happens that Bronies can fend for themselves using LnT alone (though it's really not advised).
I probably didn't make much sense there xD

No, it made sense. Many say they love and tolerate, until a situation arises and they don't.

    It's disappointing, eh?

Well at least you're working on it! ^^

Admitting it is along the road to stopping it!

I'm not too fussed about not living by love and tolerance. If people dislike me, it's their opinion - I don't like bringing my brony-dom into it.
(also I'm really bad at tolerating. Seriously.)

I think most or at least a decent part of the fan base tries to take the shows morals and the motto to heart, but we don't live in a world anywhere near as ideal as Equestria, so its rather hard to do, But the fact people try speaks echoes in my opinion. We are humans, we are flawed, always have been, always will be, but the fact something as simple as a childrens carton can make people want to be better, makes me feel all warm & fuzzy inside.

....*unlike most other fan bases i'm a part of which make me want to punch babies, no one should ever want to do that XD*

I'm sorry if this makes me seem like a bad person or brony but the morals and motto's are one of the few things from the show that I have a hard time remembering.

    here's a fun fact
while 8 people died by gun in europe last year
over 1,000 died by gun in the U.S
    including hate crimes
see that is where love and tolerance comes in

    ...Wut?

Unless I'm mistaken, a hate crime is where one hates on another person to a degree that it violates the US bill of rights or whatever rights system is being used in some other country.

I fail to see how that directly kills anybody...

Also, I fail to see how the number of deaths has anything to do with bronies loving and tolerating...

I agree with you I also fail to see how any of the things Shade says has to do with bronies loving and tolerating.

A lot of bronies speak of love and tolerance, yet when the first site of opposition appears before them, they start to freak out. Acting calm and being sarcastic in the face of those who disagree with you is not the same as tolerance. It's just another way of arguing.
