Their episodes are an intentional running gag. That's all the reason is for it. Why? The latest CMC episode lessons have been rather sub-par and forced, containing a plot/sub-plot of general sillyness. Maybe that's the point, but it's becoming a bit stale for me. I think it's been drawn out too far, but I guess the writers are probably waiting until the end of this season for them to get their cutie marks. Maybe.
While I applaude your attempts to inject some sort of reality into these forums, I must point out that you're trying to have a serious discussion about a show starring magical talking sparkle ponies with lower back tattoos. Down this path leads madness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=sXoYK4b_q24
I disagree, I think One Bad Apple & Sleepless In Ponyville have been among the better CMC eps, but thats just me. Also think you mean end of series, not end of season. I'm pretty sure the MLP team and even Faust herself *I know she's not on the show anymore but bare with me* said the CMC Would not get their marks during the shows actual run. So yeah have to wait for a series finale for that.
Ah, I think they're doin' fine in their search. It wouldn't be too fun if they just had 2 episodes then they got their Cutie Marks now would it? So, they make an adventure out of it. I reckon we can go ahead and conclude that Apple Bloom's CM will have something to do with Apples, seeing how it runs in the Apple Family
i actually think they're trying TOO hard. Those things come naturally. But it doesn't matter if they are or aren't trying hard enough because it wouldn't be okay if they got there cutie marks right away. So many episodes would've been nonexistent if they got them right away.
Oh no.. They are trying.. But they should't.. Or.. I kind of like those episodes, so nothing bad about that.. I cant wait to see what they get!.. Even if some of them already is kind of easy to know
I am personally getting tired of CMC episodes because their suspension of disbelief is beginning to fail. The three are little kids, and they regularly pull of incredible feats that cannot be matched even by adult ponies, so there doesn't seem to be any reason for them to not have their cutie marks other than to have a reason to continue their story arc. Hopefully they will get them after awhile and the CMC era will end...even though I quite enjoy the three as characters, the episodes they are featured in are beginning to seem a little forced.
I think it's funny the way they are over-thinking the whole "this is my destiny" thing. It makes for some pretty funny attempts and enjoyable episodes. If they ever do get their cutie marks, it should be at the end of the series. SB would be the first, I'm sure. Then Scoot would get hers. Then AB gets a letter from Babs saying she got hers and at the end of the episode, AB finally gets it. It might be hard to cram all of that into 22 minutes so I'd rather that be a 2-parter. That's just me though.
^ This. l-) The CMC go through one horribly impractical or unrealistic idea after another in their quest for their cutie marks. If they finally took a hint from the mane 6 and let their natural interests and/or abilities shine (rather than pursuing activities at random), they might have received their cutie marks several episodes ago. So yeah, they are trying WAY too hard! xD Thing is, there are some things that can never happen in a show if the story is to continue. The coyote will never catch the road-runner. Case and point. Even though it's usually cringe-inducing to watch the crusaders gallop away, brimming with self-confidence as they tackle another ridiculous idea, you have to admit that we'd lose some really great episodes if they weren't so clueless.
As much as I like them and would love to see the CMC get their cutie marks I don't see that happening until the end of the series.
Sometimes I want to step into the show, shake those fillies by the shoulders and yell "Your name is Apple Bloom! Your cutie mark will have to involve tending apples! Go do some farming!"
