Do you mean that you have never finished a full-length, adult novel, or that you have never read any excerpts of published literature at any time ever? Congratulations. If you haven't seen "The Sixth Sense" with Bruce Willis, he just spoiled the ending for you. Someone did the same thing to me.
I've read excerpts, and I skim-read pieces of books a lot, but I've never completely read anything. No full-length novels, or half-length novels, or nonfiction, or textbooks--no anything with words between two covers. I don't think I can even say I've read an entire page of anything. I've never had the attention span. lol So this year I'm gonna push it.
My new years resolution is to better myself in every way. (Because honestly, the fact I had to wait for the new year to get up off my lazy butt and decide to better myself is just downright deplorable) There's plenty to do. Weight to lose, things to learn, people to help and of course, ponies to watch! May seem a bit generic, but hey, my resolution means a lot to me. I've kept every promise I've ever made, and I don't plan to shirk on a promise just because I made it to myself.
I'm gonna borrow what someone else said a few posts before me...Each new year is one to start fresh and make yourself a better person than before. For me, it's focusing more on my schoolwork (especially Government...sigh)...I'm gonna hate doing it, but if I want to make my dad proud, it'll be worth it. There are a bunch of other things I need to improve on, such as remembering things...
First of all, happy new year! My resolution would be to keep plodding along as I've always have, for the end of highschool is in sight yay! (1,5 more years...) I'm not going to focuss on what's normal, and just enjoy myself the way I choose to. I'll be keeping an eye out for nice people in my environment, but I won't get dissapointed when most people think I'm a just a vague hippieweirdo. I'm quite positive. Have a great one, everypony!
I picked out my first book. I'm starting simple, lol. I like fantasy and it's a relatively short one (less than two hundred pages). I've got a few of the sequels for when I finish it too.
When you finish that and have gotten more used to reading, I have a suggestion for you: the Wheel of Time series. It's long but fantastic. With that, I have an additional resolution of sorts: Buy and read the 14th and final Wheel of Time book that comes out in a week. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2
My New Year's Resolution is to be nicer to everypony and get on my beloved My Little Pony Websites more often than I have been.
