For my dad, it's extra stressful because it's the time of year that his company gives him lots of work. For me, it's all happy rainbows and butterflies.
F*ck. I know I said I would never drink beer again but I lied. I was just at my boss's going-away party. And, ya know, I was considering not going to this party. If it was for anyone else I wouldn't have gone. But this was my boss, and my boss is awesome. He's pushed me through a lot of tough stuff, even in the like, three weeks I actually worked under him. Even after he got moved to another dev team he supported me. He may not have known the ins and outs of programming himself but it meant something to have someone that ridiculously encouraging in charge of the team. I had a rocky start at this company but this guy knows how to lead. I'd even say he's been just has helpful to me as the people who taught me programming in the first place. When someone like that tells you to have a beer, and you know it's the last order he'll ever give you, you don't just say no. Goddammit.
