Everyone knows that the Timberwolves in the latest episode of MLP had a much different approach to animation, but has anyone else noticed that they sort of resemble the graphics of Borderlands? I'm sure everyone here is familiar with the MLP Easter Eggs in the Borderlands II DLC, including a shout out to Fluttershy herself. I see an inconspicuous little partnership going, here.

Or am I just seeing things. :dunno:

You're just seeing things, all they did was use 3D animating in place of their usual 2D, Flash animation. I forget what program that they more than likely used for it though, something that starts with a C...

    Borderlands models are all Cel-shaded.

I honestly don't see the similarities in animation here.

Well, I remember that the Timberwolves WERE cell-shaded... And same here, I just don't see it

Take away the more videogamey shading of Borderlands, and it looks strikingly similar, IMO. But I've been told that I'm more perceptive than others, and tend to think things look plain as day, while not as obvious to others.

That's probably because they used the same animation program, not really all that groundbreaking. And besides, just because the guys behind Borderlands 2 like ponies doesn't mean that they are in some sort of co-op/partnership with the people behind MLP.

I'm left wondering how that's relevant.

Or maybe all of YOU need an eye exam. See what I did there? I just freaked your minds!

I reiterate, I'm very perceptive, and I can see the similarities in pretty much anything. As it just so happens, both WERE created with cell animation, so I was able to at least draw that connection. I still think they look similar, regardless of you can't see.

Tons of things use cel-shading. All the 3D Tales of Games, all Dragonball Z games, many anime effects, many Futurama animations (like the Planet Express ship), Pokemon XY, and many, many more. I fail to see how the Timberwolves resemble Borderlands specifically.

I feel like you guys think I'm retarded. In the very least I'm just misinformed, but I'm no idiot. As well as that, I believe you're misinterpreting me. I said it was a SMALL connection, and I, as in ME, can see just a very subtle similarity between them. Simple enough. Everything else - like the partnership thing - were just jokes.

Admittedly, though, I've been told that I can find the similarities between chicken eggs and dog farts. ^^'
