A big part of the "my Little Pony" brand is the toys Hasbro make, and I've seen the subject of toys brought up quite a bit around here. I, myself, have been getting quite into the toys lately, and I thought maybe a Toy Discussion sub-forum'd be useful for sorting out discussions based around the toys, new toy releases, blindbags, mane and tail styling, peoples customs, and advice on other such things Pony toy related. So.... Opinions? Thanks

Possibly a collective 'merch' sub-forum? On pretty much every other pony forum site I've seen there has been one of these. It just makes sense.
Thanks. I do agree with what's said in this thread, about the having too many sections that're un-needed, such as the Pony art section and the non-pony art section, and I believe that sub-forums that could fit snugly together should probably be put together. But as it stands, I don't believe that the discussion about toys really snugly fits anywhere. The community Discussion's meant to be an area for the discussion of the Brony Community, not so much Toys.
Community Discussion forum is fine for this. Even Pony Art would work. Customs, plushies, etc count as forms of creative work in the fandom.
I agree that there is no forum that march discussion can go in currently. However, I also agree that some parts of the site need cleaning up. I think that maybe a sub-forum could be made for merch discussion in the community discussion. There is nothing like it at the moment.
After I've merged some current forums together, if there's enough want for this I'll probably add it in.
Honestly I don't think there should be a dedicated sub-forum for merch. It's a nice idea but think about how often it would really be used. However, that is not to say I think there shouldn't be a place for merch discussion, because there should be just not its own dedicated sub-forum. Instead, how about simply having (like the regular general discussion) a "General Pony Discussion". That would give a place not just for merch talk but any other pony-related talk that doesn't fit into the main topics there already. Personally I think "The Library" could actually lose a topic and have just, -General pony discussion (this would be community discussion as well merch and other things) -MLP:FIM discussion (this would combine character and story discussion as well as allowing any other general talk about the show) -Episode discussion (this would stay the same really for talk related to the specific episodes) Just my thoughts anyway.

Little bump. So, the I don't feel that the Community Duiscussion subforum's a suitable place for Merch Discussion... Can this maybe be concidered again?
Not really. Believe it or not, I have yet to visit General Discussion yet, because the name itself just sounds too broad. Two days ago I was thinking of maybe making a thread discussing the MLP trading cards, but there were 2 problems: 1) I didn't have a clue where to put it, and 2) I didn't know where to look to make sure there wasn't already a section like that. I looked in Media, because merchandise is directly linked to media as a means of advertising the franchise, but there still wasn't anything specifically for merchandise. I endorse the idea of a merchandise sub-forum, but I think it should be classified under Media. The Media section already has sub-forums for TV/Movies, Video Games, and stuff like that, so merchandise seems like it would fit in nicely among those. Also, on a related note, there could also be one for trading card games like Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, MTG, the MLP cards, etc.
I don't know about putting the Merch subsection under Media. I'd say put it under The Library, since the primary focus is MLP: FiM. If you want to talk about other TCG's, you could make a TCG thread under either Media or Games (which is a subsection of Media). Just my two cents.
At this point, I don't see an issue with giving it its own section in The Library. But I'd also like to see what you guys think.
