Religious threads always rustle my jimmies. But otherwise I'm doing nothing as usual lol. Getting ready for work tomorrow.
It's like that, except instead of a wife I have plushies. I try not to get involved with discussions like those anymore, not because religion bothers me, but because I'm picky about how people use certain words. I have to fight the urge to drop in and go "actually, that means this, not that" because that's almost never relevant. XD And yeah, I'm a programmer and my company's kinda been hitting a crunch phase lately. Still it's better than my last job, by miles. Turns out working less than forty hours a week and wanting to stab your boss sucks more than working fifty or more and only wanting to stab yourself. Who'da thought?
First of all, you have excellent taste in webcomics, because xkcd is actually the greatest thing. Second, I know what it's like to fight the urge to argue semantics. Sometimes I hear people say "I'm agnostic because I'm not sure whether or not there is a God" and I hold back my retort of "That's not what that means, stop abusing your keyboard." Who would have thought it? What sort of company do you work for?
Firo was pretty cool too. But really I can't say there are many characters I didn't like. Not many anime have been able to do this. lol This feel. I know it well. Particularly it bothers me when people say "atheist" and imply that it means something special. Neil deGrasse Awesome put it best: "It's odd the word 'atheist' even exists. I don't play golf. Is there a word for non-golf-players?" And then there's this gem from a family member... "I can't believe you're an atheist! Not believing in God I could maybe understand... but an atheist?!" Me: "ಠ_ಠ" ...That was what I tried to avoid posting about but here I am ranting about it anyway. This is your fault. D:< I work for EA. ...Yeah, you can laugh now.
I definitely just saved that picture on my computer for future practical use. Yeah, there's a lot of misunderstanding that the public seems to have for the word "atheist." Neil deGrasse Tyson said it very well. Not many people I know seem to recognize that me being an atheist really only means that I don't believe in any sort of God(s), and that any other connotations attached to that word are likely wrong. But you shouldn't bottle these things up. Feel better? Seriously? Ha, why would I laugh at that? That's really cool!
EA is by far one of the most hated developers in the industry, maybe second only to Zynga. XD Personally I enjoy it here, but my standards may just be low, lol. At the last place I worked, there was no company structure, crunch was constant (thanks to said boss's chronic stupidity), and the pay was dirt. I'd rather not imagine a development house worse than that. Here, though crunch is still a thing, at least the company knows its reputation and is taking steps to fix it. And it helps that a paycheck here is worth almost as much as one at my old job and I get them twice as often.
You should really try to search for other jobs that could be less stressful yet pay decently on the side.
That'd be nice, but I don't have the experience yet that the fancy places look for. And I'm in the wrong corner of the country. Damn California and their being better than Florida.
Hello everypony! Wow I like the new banner... I know some bronies in there... ^^ I'm not sure whether I am one of them :S (I'd like to... of course) I'm hungry!!!!!!!
