    Spell Idea:

Sacrifice: Stamina is reduced by half remaining Stamina.

A Healer may spend any amount of their own HP to heal another. If the target is also affected by negative status (Bleeding, Poisoned, Blind, etc), that negative status is removed from the target and transfers to the Healer.

    See? I'm still here.

    Here's an idea
    Relic vision:
Uses up a quarter of stamina but allows treasure hunters to easily find items (think eagle vision from assassins creed) the brighter the object the more valuable it is.

I have. Using Professor Follia as a base, I came up with the following skills/skill tree:

    Zoology:
Identify Animal - This skill allows the user to identify a particular non-hostile animal based on physical appearance, particular call/sounds, footprints, or scent. (e.g. Rabbits, dogs, fish, ferrets, owls, etc)
Identify Monster - This skill allows the user to identify a hostile animal based on the same traits as the Identify Animal skill. (e.g. Windigoes, Timber Wolves, Manticores, Dragons, etc)
Analyze Animal - Allows the user to estimate the relative health and fatigue of a target animal with certainty (based on how well you roll)
Analyze Monster - Same as Analyze Animal, but with Monsters
Animal Whispering - Allows the user to communicate with an animal with a certain degree of certainty (based on roll checks, character can have a specialty with a particular kind of animal)
Animal Handling - More direct control over animals
Animal Companion - A persistent Animal friend.
Summon Animal - The character lets out a loud whistle, summoning an animal to their aid based on how well the player rolls.
Pacify Monster - Willpower success pacifies the target Monster and stops it from attacking.
Monster Wrangling - Allows the user partial control over a Monster for the duration of combat. After combat, the Monster leaves the area.
Summon Monster - A skilled player can summon a monster to aid them in combat. Works like Animal Summoning.

It's like spells, but for the brain. Would this be more based off of Creativity rather than Willpower?

Probably. I think that Creativity would be the best stat to use.

    Advancement would be different, too.

I was thinking...I'm not sure how other classes advance yet, but I was thinking that the tiers for the Student class would be done with degrees:

Student of [Skill Tree], followed by Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, and finally Doctorate or Professor of [Skill Tree], where Professors gain the ability to train others in skills that they themselves have mastered (attained the highest rank of).

To advance, the Student would have to take an Exam at any school or university, where they would have to roll check their various skills and pass.

As for subjects, I've come up with Zoology, Botany (which may or may not include Alchemy), Geology, Pyrotechnics, Hydrology, and Meteorology. I was also thinking of have a General Knowledge-based skill tree called General Studies (or something of that sort..."Undeclared" maybe), where you can learn from all of the other schools, but not be able to attain certain subject-only skills, like Summon Monster.

I was also thinking about giving them Medicine as a subject, but having them not be able to use it in battle, or something. Some sort of restriction where you can't just trade a magical-based healer type for an ordinary doctor.

Unlike TwV, there's no class advancement as there is with that system. Only the class skills get improved as they receive achievements for those specific skills. Like the guard's Iron Pony skill has an achievement attached to it that'll let it restore Stamina any time they block damage in melee, things like that. So maybe leveling through achievements? Even as a more open-ended system it can get a bit messy with all the fields of knowledge we have.

Maybe Chemistry could replace Hydrology. It's such a cumbersome term, anyway...Hydrology...
I'm not even sure that it's the right word, even.

Okay, like if you're able to identify a particular creature, or somesuch, or you roll a good creativity score for a particular skill that you don't have.

Some subject probably wouldn't have that many skills associated with them, as some are likely cross-class skills, like the ability to identify a historical artifact.

It's like you read my mind. So, there's a possibility to Follia and his little dog joining in too?

That's what I do, Tyro. I read minds.

    Over the internet.

C'mon, think of a number, any number.

    It's 594.

Trust me. Even if that wasn't the number you were thinking of, you were definitely feeling it.

On the subject of Follia, I don't see why not. :D

So... you two can make up the rules on those thinking classes.

I'll stick with magic and mayhem.
