Thank you StealthToast (great username). Glad you like the Fluttershy painting! Thanks Eight Star! I haven't tried Airbrushing, is it fun? Thanks! :derpe:
Request from my friend Formal Riot from BAU (Bronies Australia) to pair his OC 'Formal Riot' with 'David Hooves' (OC)
Awesome, really like their pose and expressions. ^^ Masamune's also looking good, hope to see a colored version too, after you finish it. Though, I think a small evil smile (like in the pic where he's a human) would fit him more.
Lol, thank you Eight Star! Yes it was a tricky pose but I got there after a some tweaking. Aw thanks Fluttering-flutter! Glad you like the Fluttershy portrait. Thanks StealthToast! It's still a work in progress so there is still work to be done. I have given him a small smile, but I may change it to match the human version more as I progress. Thanks for the suggestion! Works in Progress Date Masamune: Oichi:
.Wow these are impressive. Welldone...l have you ever thought of painting a Dj pony? I had an idea for one.. But could never draw it myself.. Anyways amazing work! I'll be watching this thread
Nice work on the new pieces Wiinajamizzi, you've got the proportions down nicely, now if you could just 'tidy' things up a bit. Don't get me wrong, I love the sketchy look (it's actually quite similar to my own style) but cleaning up the lines can do wonders, I think you would even surprise yourself! Also backgrounds. Judging by what you've posted so far I assume you tend to shy away from backgrounds. It looks like you try to create some kind of a background for each picture which is great, I reckon you could really improve your skills by trying to do more detailed BG's. But then again maybe I'm biased since landscapes and BG's are my kind of thing :derpe: I just realised you're from Aus too, I'm in Brisbane myself, originally from Townsville
Thank you very much Rhythm! I haven't painted a pony dj, but I have drawn one! Maybe some time in the future, since i'm planning on opening commissions real soon. I appreciate your support! Hello Doggy! I really do appreciate constructive criticism! You're so gentle! Btw your avatar is giving me the a serious case of the "d'awwww's" :derpe: Thank you for the advice, Doggy! The latest two and the discord vs. Celestia one are still works in progress so i'll try to tidy up the lines a bit more like you suggested. The expressionistic bold lines are there to create a sense of movement, but I guess I can overdo it sometimes. Digital art isn't really my strong point, and I really am terrible at it... Sometimes I wonder why i'm still even doing digital art because of how terrible I am. You're right, backgrounds are something I try to steer clear of mainly in digital art, because I suck at it so hard. In traditional painting I have done interiors, environment backgrounds and even a landscape painting, but that's because i'm more comfortable with oil paints and other traditional media. With my pony artworks I admit that backgrounds are lacking and I should do something about it. I should try to attempt some backgrounds to break out of my comfort zone with my obsession with abstract backgrounds in my digital artworks, especially since i'm opening commissions soon. Yay! Australian bronies! /) I'm in Glenwood in Sydney.
No problem mate, if you ever want something critiqued just give me shout. Gentle with criticism or in general?, I suppose it's kind of the same thing in end. Haha, I've had this avatar since the day I joined, I've grown too attached to it now to ever get another one. Because deep down you know that feeling simply means you realise there are improvements that can be made. You say they're terrible but that is by your own standards, what is in your mind is further along than what you can physically create, frustrating as it might be it's what leads to a better work tomorrow. I look forward to seeing them Pony drawings are probably a great place to start with digital scenery, the show itself has countless fantastic scenes if you get stuck for ideas.
Haha it's not that amazing really, but if you like it then that makes my day! I do take requests but i'm starting to wind down since i'm planing on opening commissions soon. Since you've been supporting me, i'll let it slide. So what do you have in mind? Sure thing, thanks doggy. You are gentle with criticism and by nature from what i've gathered. How very profound Doggy. What you say makes sense and has changed my perspective on art making. I've never thought of it that way before. This is my first digital landscape painting. It's of Canterlot Castle at night. Still a work in progress:
Naww thanks man. Cool! I just hope it helps you keep on improving. A couple of years ago near the end of school I stopped drawing almost entirely, on occasion I tried forcing myself to draw just something, but every time I would get frustrated stop before I had really started. That went on for a year and a half or so but I slowly realised what I told you. In a weird way I guess having that happen did help me become better, but I still wouldn't recommend it lol! That's lookin' good mate, it's good that you're keeping it simple to start with.
I do really like it Are you sure you wanna do it? If you wouldnt mind... i would like to see your interpretation of my OC if you wouldnt mind... You can firstly see her on the left in my avatar, and here is a picture of her, done by Fluttershy: http://o-fluttershy-o.deviantart.com/#/d5hfmsb And i really like your landscape, even though its in the night, it does seem very friendly
Thank you Valkyyria. I'll get to it then. This is a quick digital painting that I did of Applejack. "Iðunn"
