HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO ME? I've made my mistakes! There's nowhere to run! The night goes on, as I'm fading away! I'm sick of this life I just wanna SCREEEEEAAAAAM! How could this, happen to me?
Bah, the whole internet is caught up in pony spoilers and gun violence debates. The only thing on my mind is new Fire Emblem... EDIT: aaaaand I just dripped candle wax on my sock. Farewell, sock.
Not much, just me complaining about the blood stains on my shirts again. Turns out they don't come out with bleach. :| Gods yes, the reviews are positively glowing. I can't wait. I just ordered my 3DS last weekend. The special edition bundle was confirmed for North America, so now I'm glad I didn't get a 3DS any sooner. I get a special one!
The way I'm used to playing by now, I never let any party members die. I learned my lesson when I first played Blazing Sword back in the day. XD Now I'm in the habit of protecting everyone no matter how minor they are. One way or another every character will reward you eventually (especially those early ones <3). I love that about these games.
Do eeeeet. Queen Elincia commands you. EDIT: Or, make that Commander Tanith. You don't want to disappoint Commander Tanith. No one does.
I play through RPG's in the exact same way. I love protecting the fictional characters that I develop unhealthy emotional attachments to.
I dunno, you gotta draw the line before protection becomes taking the offense. And besides, you gotta acknowledge the faults of your favourite characters because that's what makes them relatable.
Ninoooooooo. I love that picture and Nino is so awesome. One of the best characters in that game for sure. <3 Knowing the characters have faults is part of what makes me want to protect them. The writers are great at making me feel like the characters I'm controlling are real people, not just digital spreadsheets of stats (yeah, I'm a terrible gamer lol). So it's like, if I make some tactical misstep, someone's actual life is on the line. And when I say "protect" I don't mean I sit still on the battlefield and wait for the enemy to act either. In fact one of my friends (who is used to fighting that exact way--he just surrounds his party with armor knights and marches slow) describes my tactics as hasty and dangerous because I often split my party up and attack from multiple directions. I might just be impatient, but I like fast-moving units like cavalry and pegasus knights because they can cut deep into enemy territory, evade or slaughter any challengers, and do whatever they need to do before the enemy has any time to react. But I never send anyone anywhere without support (always in groups of two or three, plus a healer if I can), and I don't hesitate to retreat if things get too hairy. Better to lose a few turns and a tactical convenience than someone's life.
