Just look at all the effort put into the animation, and the freaking epicness. I trust the show writers more than ever to provide us with a good Season 4, and I'm sticking my middle hoof up to Hasbro right now. The super-awesome Studio B will guarantee us a good time.
we will see. word from inside (that is unbiased) is that episode itself will be awesome. However, I find it more intriguing on what will happen at end of episode. There's been lot of theories, and things that did compute and did not compute. However, I remember that same situation was before A Canterlot wedding, when storywriters said that it'll be best episode ever, and people didn't believe them, and thought that episode won't be anything special ( I was among them, I mean really, how could have episode about a formal wedding be interesting? I expected just filler boring episode, and we got Chrysalis, changelings etc, all that wasn't in any teasers or anything. Complete surprise). Teaser does suggest that wings could be plug & play system, since they can make then (and probably reverse the spell) with elements of harmony, so for sake of season 4 animation (and no missing wings, disjoint and double layers, specially since there's 26 episodes to make) they could be ware off and on as needed. Kinda same way like mane 6 don't carry elements of harmony always on their necks (and head), but only when they need it)) (I mean really, why do you need wings (implying whole princess thing) in episode about modeling and fashion where twilight would merely appear for minute or 2 (Implying that we need more Rarity episodes) )) tl;dr: keep calm and watch the episode when it airs. They said that twilight's personalty won't change in any case, nor that she'll leave her friends.
Not getting my hopes up. If this episode goes the way I really hope it does, I'll stay in this fandom. If not...
Not gonna lie, that was cool. Still, I think we all know whats gonna happen. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether this change would be permanent or temporary. Ether way, it'll be no skin off my nose if she has wings. ... Spikes little dance at the end made me chuckle. xD
I'm indifferent about it. Her having wings won't personally alter my perception of her as a character. Though I obviously can't speak for everybody.
Interesting theory...that might actually work, although I think it'd be a pain in the butt for them to do every time they need an alicorn :derpe: I personally don't mind either way, 26 episodes means a longer season, and to be honest I just want more ponies. Nothing can be as bad as Season 3 letting me down, Studio B can focus on their ideas as opposed to making filler for Hasbro's ideas with the Twilicorn transformation out of the way.
Wings or not, I'll stick with the show. Seems a little stupid to give up on a show just because ONE main character changes a little. I'm looking forward to the episode whichever way it goes.
I'm cool with it too, but I think how naysayers feel about Twilicorn is a little more complicated. I don't think anybody is put off by the wings, or anything about the bodily transformation. I think they are more or less concerned about what the transformation could lead to: An Over idealized Twilight, who loses her charming demeanor that made people like her, or worse yet her exclusion from the rest of the Mane Six. Truthfully, I don't think ANYBODY is bothered by the wings. I think skeptics are concerned about what comes after? I'm cool with it, but I understand why some would be concerned or even opposed.
add on to the theory: since, let's be honest, mlp:fim borrows ideas from some other shows sometimes. now, one thing caught my mind: We never saw Twilight alicorn without her tiara (except that hub facebook's timeline banner which is only a vector, and not a screenshot from episode). And what's her tiara? Her element of magic, which is magic anyway. Teasers suggest that Elements of Harmony will make her princess. Ok, now let's go to anime world a little bit: I remember one show that my sis used to watch (Sailor Moon) where there was couple of girls that were regular girls most of the time, but when they'd put on their tiaras, they would became warrior princesses and change their form (as in how they look). Show itself was aimed at girls, about the same audience as mlp (only that it was japanese). So, Elements on Magic on=Twilight flashes or something and gets wings, Element of Magic off = Twilight loses wings. (aka, maybe element of magic itself would get some kind of new magic to it)
I think Twilight getting wings is kinda cool. I mean, she's still Twilight, right? Celestia knows she deserves it. She's saved Equestria... 3 times?
