It was my understanding that the movie they were making was ponies, with Equestria Girls being a spin-off tv series. Unless the movie is just them becoming humans then changing back, and the spin-off picks up that alternate storyline where they are just humans all the time. Is there any sources for this info? For the screencap? Any official announcements?
Guys you do realise this is all a RUMOR and NO ONE AT HASBRO HAS CONFIRMED THIS IMAGE IS LEGIT! CALM THE BUCK DOWN!!! Also its just a SPIN-OFF MOVIE we still have SEASON 4 OF THE MAIN SERIES!!! M'KAY! Equestria Girs Is the NEW IP, its for geared towards getting the Teen/Tween girl crowd, FIM is still gonna do its thing! And we have no reason to believe this will be more then 1 TV movie, so yeah....
The Ponies on Earth as Humans idea could work, if executed properly. If the rumors are indeed true, they need to change the art style. I'm interested to see what happens in the future, because this could either explode the fandom or begin the biggest rage fest the internet has ever seen. Yes, the internet may collapse if if all fails. Make sure you have your three day kits ready just in case.
You've got your facts all wrong. This isn't a movie and has nothing to do with the plot of FiM; it's a SPINOFF series. See for yourself:
No one is forcing us to watch this, when it comes out I think most of the fandom will just ignore it. I doubt it will actually affect Fim
It won't, because it's a spinoff. Spinoffs are not usually canon to the series they're linked to; the only exception I know of is The Cleveland Show. The point of a spinoff is that they're branching off from the primary series, and often they'll continue to make new episodes of both the main series and new episodes of the spinoff at the same time, like how they're still making new episodes of both Family Guy and The Cleveland Show.
Yeah LD is right think of this like the filler arc of a long running shonen, weather its good or bad doesn't matter it doesn't count towards the cannon material. MLP:FIM season 4 doesn't start for quite awhile and Pony is a HOT IP Hasbro needs something pony-related to play no matter how loosely during the Spring & Summer. And again it could be good for what it is, doubt it'll be anywhere as good as the mane series, but it could be watchable overall . Also, only design I like is AJ, therefore I shall only watch AJ focused EQG eps! XD But yeah it'll be some fun cannon fodder to tide us over till season 4 of FIM starts. And if you don't want to watch this at all theres reruns of S 1-3 and the comic, no ones making any one watch the spin-off, it can be ignored, probably won't last more then a season any way, its more of an Experiment on Hasbro's part moreso then anything else.
*shrugs* I was just sharing what I knew, or what was rumoured to be true but not confirmed, no need to be mad.
Yes, I'm going to freak out. I don't usually over rumors but this time I will considering the alicorn thing turned out to be true. I wasn't really worried about the Twilight alicorn thing, but the humanized ponies in Equestria Girls and/or movie (if true) I think is a terrible idea. Also, if they wanted to make humanized ponies, why make them like this. There are plenty of brony artist that have made very nice renditions of the mane 6, it's not that hard to make them interesting and not freaky (they creep me out). I really think this spin off will bring their ratings way down and have the opposite effect than they intend. I wish they'd try and integrate the fandom more in the creative process but it seems like they're really cracking down on brony creativity as well. The fan made stuff is the only thing that got me interested enough to watch the show to begin with. Short rant, but glad I got this off my chest. I don't usually complain to much about the show but those humanized version freak me out so much I had to say something. ~Anti~
But I've heard from multiple people that this is a confirmed fake.
*Finds rope* START A LYNCH MOB! No seriously guys, I kinda think its fake, kinda don't... I can't imagine this happening in the show, it be weird. If this does happen, it might be the single thing that kills the fandom or splits it in half.. I'm not sure, but it scares me!
It's mentioned in one of the new issues of Kidscreen magazine, which just about confirms it, unless they've got a troll editor... I wonder how many episodes they've planned in this spinoff. Maybe enough to equal half a season? Guess that's where we can put the blame for 13 episodes in Season 3.
These are some speculations I have for Equestria Girls based on what I know of the ponies’ characters and the standard kinds of things they tend to have in series where the mane characters are teenagers and/or in High School. For now I’m almost exclusively sticking to speculations about their school lives, because we know they’re in High School but don’t really know anything else about the world they live in, like if it’s a normal human world setting or halfway between Earth and Equestria. Speculations: *Fluttershy: -Will be a vegetarian. -Will be/be in one or more of these: Biology class, peer counselling, music class. *Twilight: -Will be/be in one or more of these: Math, Physics, history„ literature, honor roll *Rarity: -Will be/be in one or more of these: Sewing club, drama/theater class, art class, yearbook *Applejack: -Will be/be in one or more of these: Garden club, wrestling *Rainbow: -Will be a C student -Will be/be in one or more of these: Track team, archaeology with Professor Daring Do, detention *Pinkie: -Will be/be in one or more of these: Cooking class, band, choir, the spirit squad, the school mascot, cheerleading, advanced physics, therapy
Dan VS My Little Pony would be Hillarious. In fact I beleive theres an old Hub Promo where Dan gets mad at Pinkie Pie for Blinging his car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0n1WGHLmCw But yeah I could see an EQG/LPS Crossover. Also I believe MLP is having its 30th Anniversary as a Franchise this year, wonder if season 4 of FIM will try anything big like adding more modern versions of characters from past generations? That would be neat!
If you expect it to be horrible then of course it's going to be horrible, because you'll be so determined to prove yourself correct that you'll only be able to see the negatives and be blind to the positives. You always need to keep your mind open to the possibilities, including the valid possibility that the show will in fact be good. And while you're telling the future, care to tell me next week's lotto numbers?
People?! Humans?! No. This is exactly what I wanted to avoid in this show. Don't fix what's not broken Hasbro.. My life is over now.
