Being honest, all of these links are a major turnoff for me, along with the default them. I've switched to a different theme, which fixed the eyesore that was the default, but the links around the site are just confusing. I found myself looking for about 10 minutes just to find the member list, before realising it was in the "quick links" area, which jut makes no sense to me. Some areas are fine, like the topmost bar, and the third bar down, but everything else just makes me wonder where things are, and why some of them are even there in the first place.

it may be personal preference, but it's still worth saying that I really dislike the links everywhere. It's one if the things that turned me off posting here until just now. Sorry if I'm coming off the wrong way, it if this thread is in the wrong area.

For me it only took maybe half an hour to familiarize myself with the HUD of the site o_O

This is a forum. Obviously there are gonna be links all over the place, no matter how it's organized. Just take some time to familiarize yourself with the site.

Whilst I understand that, it'll be a turn-off for newer members. It'll overwhelm them with the sheer amount of areas where mis-clicking could send you to an un-desirable location. This happened to me, turning me off from posting until today. All the links are fine, just not the location of them, or the orginazation.

What location or organization would you suggest then?

I am not on a compute currently, so I cannot tell you all of which bugs me, but I shall give you a short list:

1: You guys have two link for the "radio", profile settings, "forums", "home", and "blogs" area of the site. Having two links that lead to the same area is a little pointless, and it takes up space that you could use for other links that take you to different areas.

2: The "Quick Links" area, mainly, the "who is online". If you wanted to see who's online, you could just go to the forums page, or check the members list, which took me a while to find, because I assumed it would be in some sort of "Community" tab. That one about the member lost though, that's personal habit, so it's probably just me that sees a problem with it.

I'd tell you more, but typing as much as I have been recently is irritating on a mobile device, I'll return tomorrow, when I can get on a PC.

I dont know i thought all the links were somewhat intriguing when i first joined. Certainly gave off the impression that the site was very expansive and we have no trouble here with turning away new members or giving an unorganized impression as you will see if you enter the Introductions area of the forum.

Thank you for your input. The sub-links under tabs could use some re-organizing. I don't see an issue with the headbar. It takes up, what, 40px of vertical space? Redundant, maybe, but I think it looks nice personally.

Nah, I quite like the header, it's convenient. You pretty much hit the nail on the head though, it's the ones underneath in the other bar that cunfuddle me :p
