My least favourite fan group is defiantly beliebers. 1 reason only, cutting for beiber. Seriously, WTF was that!?
I don't actually think we are the best fandom. I have honestly seen a lot of bronies that piss me off, for a variety of reasons and no I'm not counting R34 or Gore. I'm sure that we have a very biased view of it, since we are in it. Of course we are going to think our fandom is better then everyone elses. But i'm sure those other fandoms think they are the best fandom too.
But honestly no matter what fandom there is there are gonna be those stupid people. I think our fandom have the best morals and are most accepting for the most part.
I don't really hate any fandom, since they all (well, most) have their good and bad members. Although one that particularly annoyed me is the One Direction/Justin Bieber fandom (I noticed them when I used Twitter). But once you ignore them, you don't really care for them and you can get on with your life.
Okay, how has nopony mentioned Trekkies yet?! You've obviously never met a person who speaks Klingon. I was at an Occupy Wall Street rally, having a conversation with someone about global warming... when he starts shouting at me in Klingon!
That...was a 4chan prank they pulled on the Beiber fandom, it wasn't created by the fandom itself. But they did fall for it...
The sonic fandom is one that just gets under my skin. I don't like the way that sonic looks so anything in the fandom is just crap. They also are full of little kids on Dsi's that can't spell. I also hate a lot of anime fandom's because it's all so sexist against one gender or the other. Also because it's just flat out wired... If you have seen some of the shows its screwed up.
I don't like the anime fandom for one reason. All the crap anime gets popular, while the awesome stuff is hardly seen. I mean seriously, Naruto is crap. While genius works of art like Twelve Kingdoms and Wolf's Rain get a footnote in history.
I really don't think ours is the best fandom - in fact, certain types of bronies are some of the most obnoxious things on the internet to me. I've seen so much more misogyny, racism, victim blaming et cetera, than I have seen in any other fandom. Not to mention bronies who refuse to accept the fact that not everybody will enjoy ponies. I would get off my high horse about the fandom. (I don't even much like the word 'brony', but I digress) The amount of art theft in the Lion King fandom is almost hillarious. And I agree to some degree with what Setzer said about animu. Although Madoka Magica got pretty popular as far as I understand, and that is some GD art right there!
I agree with this. There are a ton of anime's out there that are simply amazing that just don't ever see the light of day. There are a ton of *Ahem* "Fans" of anime who only know like one or two mainstream anime. I seriously lost count of how many times during a conversation, someone has brought up Death Note or Naruto or Bleach or "OH EM GEE INUYASHA SO KAWAII DESU DESU" Sad thing is, I've given said animes a chance. And you know what? I don't like Inuyasha. I don't like Naruto, at least not anymore. (There was a time when I liked it but recent events in the series has just killed it for me), and Death Note? I. HATE. DEATH NOTE.
^ Oh god all of those you mentioned, everywhere! Luckily I have a group of friends IRL I can share the actual good ones with.
Essentially any online gaming communities. DotA, LoL, Fighting, Counter Strike, nearly every RTS especially Starcraft, .....pretty much any game where you have to rely on few team-mates. Battlefield/CoD and stuff don't get to me as much, despite their own annoyances. They pretty much steered me away from playing online entirely. You would probably think of me as a pussy or something for letting people get to me. I just hate everyones elitism and overly-competitive nature. Granted, the games I play have a background of being Esports material, but still, I'm quite the casual player who just wants to have fun, not get scolded and yelled at constantly whenever I do one little thing wrong. I am currently playing cooperatively online...against bots so it definitely doesn't matter as much if something goes wrong. Worst part is that my friends have near to no understanding as to why I feel such things. I can't simply "get over it" and jump right into playing online again, and so they mock me.
I feel you, Xaniith. All the elitism, "pro" competitive players and "No fun allowed, we must win!" around killed my interest to play online with other people*, especially in team games. I only play online if with friends nowadays, and usually vs bots (which, in some cases, play better than the "average" player ), and single player all the time other than that. At least there you can be casual and/or lose without being yelled at. *Unless it's a coop game. Rarely ever had any problems there, to be honest.
