First I was >:C then I was :C then I went :c then :/ to finally :3 it doesn't bother me too much anymore
I'd say this is a good time for me to squeeze in a speculative rant on Princess Twilight. I honestly believe that, due to the nature of Twilight's transformation, there is no way that she can be separated from her friends. If you recall the spell she cast that triggered her transformation, her change was the result of the intertwined destinies of her and her friends. When she read the spell, the elements of harmony pooled their magics together to give Twilight "magic without end." It was her friendship with the est of the mane six that acted as the catalyst for the spell to work. This endless magic dramatically boosted her own magical abilities. The transformation into an Alicorn is the result of her increased magic. Twilight herself hasn't changed. She is still very much the same pony she was before. The only thing that is different is that she has new wings now and a few more responsibilities. She is still going to be a major part of her friends lives because they are quite literally the source of her power. If she were to grow distant to them, her power would wane and the spell would break. Then she would be just an ordinary Unicorn again. Unicorn, Alicorn, or even if some strange magic turned her into a Pegasus or Earth pony; Twilight is still Twilight, and she will always be true to her friends. Now that I've gotten that out of my system, I still think Twi looks beautiful as an Alicorn. I can't wait for season four to see what new adventures the mane six get into. I just hope that the bronies that were so scared by the change to Twilight will stick around. Change is one of those things that is inevitable and scary too, but we all can achieve amazing growth from it as well. Plus, I know the brony community is very supporting, so a friend to help you is never really far away.
I'm pretty sure the brony community will stay around. I think everyone at least want to see where it goes. But here are the things that worry me: Didn't the ending basically imply that her friends ascended to royalty as well? Does this mean the show will now take place entirely in Canterlot now? Will we ever see Applejack's farm, or Fluttershy's animals ever again? The show will have to conform to this and possibly have to go strictly story driven. This isn't what I want out of MLP. We want to be able to view each episode as its own thing - this isn't an anime. However, I could be looking to deep in to this. Don't get me wrong, though. I do sort of look forward to S4, i just worry about them being able to pull it off right.
Not necessarily, no. Twilight's friends aren't royalty, but they'd prolly be considered something like high society ponies. Nor do any of them have to stay in Canterlot, they may just have them stay in Ponyville while Twilight is in princess training mode or something. Honestl, there are a lot of different paths they could take, but we're not gonna know which one til s4.
If they are high society ponies, then why do they live in Ponyville? To be honest the only reason I would want to live in ponyville would be the mane 6 otherwise I would live in Canterlot or Cloudsdale or something like that
This. We've seen how the aristocracy of Canterlot can be. They don't look kindly upon the other villages around. How will a Princess live in a small village like Ponyville, let alone in a tree? They seem to have established classes of ponies with how they act in Canterlot vs. the other cities. Logistics will get quite messy or they will have to ignore a lot of the canon they've setup for how ponies act around the different places in Equestria. I don't think they other mane 5 ascended to royalty though, they all bowed to the new princess. How will they handle the change in class status? Remember when Fluttershy was a model and how her status as that changed how she had to act and be seen. Twilight is now a princess, she can't just quit like Fluttershy did. They have to deal with it. They have to make it make sense. I trust the writers. I think that's why they hinted at the first two episodes of season 4 being a continuation of this episode. They know they have a lot of unanswered questions. I think they will answer them for us. Or at least I hope they do.
Here you go. She speceficlly says that it was her desicsion to make Twilight into a alicorn {Along with a little joke thrown in for lulz}. https://twitter.com/MMeghanMcCarthy/status/297203867123339264
More evidence for it being true is right in this article. It's the third thing mentioned in the list of key points involving this interview. Apparently the whole Twilicorn thing has been in development since November 2011. http://www.equestriadaily.com/2013/02/unicon-2013-panel-writers-room.html#more
From the same link: "The evil corporate overlords summon the writers together with a list of demands for advertising next year's toyline." "Hasbro isn't soulless. Meghan feels the stories she and the writers want to tell are the ones that get told despite what others believe, and the studio Hasbro built up has animators and other folks who care about making a good TV show in its executive positions. M.A. went out of his way to point out that dealing with the highers-up isn't a black/white process, but has nuances. At the end of the day,Friendship is Magic is there to advertise toys of brightly colored ponies, but the writers are pretty happy with how much control they have over their episodes." Hasbro always has been and always will be part of the writing process. (I wonder sometimes if this is why Lauren left.) The current writers seem to be fine the arrangement.
My avatar tells it all. This had been the moment I had been waiting for since two years where I first saw the Cutie Mark Chronicles.
I kinda had a feeling she may end up a princess. But the fact that she literally turned into a Alicorn? That makes no sense, you cannot change what you are. Learning about friendship transforms you into a princess? I don't get it. Don't get me wrong I think it's cute but I don't see what happened. It's just out of nowhere. Oh and Trixie Will be pissed lol.
I loved the episode an' all, but I feel as if I will Never get used to Twilight as an Alicorn. To me, she'll always be a Unicorn....
