I'm going to try and write this without sounding like a whiny 7 year old. Could we have the auto-merge feature back? It was a pretty handy feature that made things like quoting multiple users much easier.
I'm not sure if i remember what Mike said about, but i think the auto-merge feature caused technical issues of some kind. One thing is for sure. Mike removed the feature himself, so there probably was a good reason.
I believe it was this issue: http://www.everypony.com/forums/showthread.php?8288-Auto-Double-Post-Glitch Personally, I think that this was a very minor issue compared to the awesomeness of auto-merge, but my opinions are not representative of this whole community.
It's a feature I really liked as well B-Dog. But it did cause some annoyances. If this thread gets more replies for it, I'll gladly turn it back on
I've made a poll, since that would be an quicker way to get people's opinions than reading each individual post.
Why not use Multi-Quote? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Auto-Merge, but something already exists for quoting multiple people.
I didn't like Auto-Merge... but that's because of wanting to separate character sheets by post and things to do with Artistic purposes, like more than one chapter being posted in a day with fics. Since there's a limit on characters in a single post - what problems would this cause?
Haha auto-merge doesn't play well with Quick Reply. - - Auto Merge - - Haha auto-merge doesn't play well with Quick Reply.
If a merge exceeds the limit, the merge is ignored and a new post is made, but you aren't going to go above the current character limit with any sort of normal use. I'll see if I can disable it for certain forums. Gotta go lookup the PHP function for it. Edit: Derp, this step was not required. I've turned Auto-Merge off in the Fictions and Character Sheets Forums
