News, bronies! Ok, many of you already have seen that we added the "cutie mark" feature. Basically, every time you post a small little picture will appear under your avatar, representing yourself. Your cutie mark. What is there else to say? Go assign your cutie mark, or you'll stay a blank flank forever! I Know I got mine :3 The next news! Seeing that we implanted the cutie mark system, with it, you should know that big responsibility comes: the rules have been updated with another type of rules: the cutie mark rules. Please follow the rules so that we keep this place as organised as possible. You got a problem with that? I can't help'ya. The next part of the news! Now, a lot of websites have all their stuff organised, and we basically are implanting the same feature to our website, just for us, it's the episode table. Basically, every episode you need the info off you can find anytime anywhere without searching through the episodes forum. It will be handy for fast checking upon the episodes. NO PONIES THIS WEEK! For some reason unknown, the Hub decided, instead of airing the new episode, they'll air the "Ticket master" one. So, anyone who's watching ponies must wait another week for a new episode... which is a shame. Basically, all episodes are announced, all but one... the last one. So, seeing that the "Ticket master" is mentioning the "Grand Galloping Gala", it may actually be good that they air this one first. It may will be aired to remind the people that the "Grand Galloping Gala" is coming, and to explain what it is to people that just started watching it on the hub.
Nice to see the site's constantly developing. Once we get all the systems in place it'll look like more then just a random forum, I think the site has the potential to gain a rather large community if it builds on the momentum that spread of the series around the internet at the moment.
Constantly submitted and used new ideas make our every step seem easier. We're developing fast, permanent work on the board itself is helping it a lot, but the main thing is you all guys posting! Continue doing so, we're gonna grow into an internet sensation in no time! *Determined look to the sky*
It could very well be to 'remind' people of the gala, seeing as that's a likely setting for one of the finishing episodes.
I've been looking at LBPC and this site's design. It's been at the tip of my tongue for a while, but now I see. When you look at LBPC everything seems to "pop" sort of speak. Here, everything seems so square-ish or blocky. I think it's a bunch of small stuff that make it look different. Like: - The graph paper where the tabs are. - The changing picture at the top. - Shadows on some of the parts to make it look like they're popping out. - Their backdrop goes further down and has more of a texture to it. - The sides are more in. - They have a thin black border around each post's separation bar. (Not sure what it's called) - And other small things.
I see, well just looked at the site and two things strike me; -> It's 'fixed' not 'fluid' this is where the style is set up in a narrow column in the centre of the screen, it doesn't have the 'fluid' sweep of the entire screen. -> The 'pop' stuff appears to 'jump out' because the table headers/borders are actually colour gradient (bevelled) images, rather than a solid colour. If you guys want stuff like this feel free to say so I'll wait till a significant amount of people do though.
If the site could support video hosting, You could upload the episodes here instead of mooching off youtube. The thing is though, would that run into legal problems?
But surely would be awesome :3 and we could set it to ADMIN only upload... though, still, better it is to use youtube, bing and others as our Video archive.
Wasn't LINX channel taken down by trolls or something? I'm pretty sure we wouldn't run into legal actions since youtube has them up as well. I think so as long as we don't make money off the site, we won't run into any legal problems.
Well many things on youtube aren't technically legal, But if the episodes are actually released for normal download then it should be a problem, and heck it's continued advertising for hasbro
Maybe, but if you look at it from their view, if we're always taking away their viewers, then they might get mad. Of course, they probably don't care and it's more about the merchandise. Agreed on the advertising. YOU HEAR THAT HASBRO?!?!?! F.R.E.E. A.D.V.E.R.T.I.S.E.M.E.N.T. . . . . . (Not meant as an insult) That's gotta be an acronym for something. lol What if you asked them? But if you can't that may be a bummer. We can probably just use the "insert video" button on top and mooch off of Youtube, rather than a link, but how long will that last?
That's what were doing currently, see the episode discussion forum Right well, it's up to The World Is Flat really he finances the site, if in the future he decides to upgrade to a dedicated server package - Then we can look into self-hosting the videos. We could contact hasbro and probably come to some agreement or just take them down if asked to do so. But I daren't put them up on the hosting package were on now, sorry guys :/
