So, in this thread you will get to see all my latest creations AND I will post some of my sketches and progress in replies, exclusively for you guys. Enjoy, hope you like it!

Rainbow Dash

Yep, I'm just trying this out guys.

So, here's the first, this is a school project I had to do, it's not completely finished but I'm getting there. The soundpools are all from the MAGIX Music Maker:

Here the sketches as promised.

Here's a sketch of the hair, was not sure how I wanted it so I did a few tests first. Keep in mind I'm just a beginner .


Full body sketch done, this is what it's going to look like. I might make some subtle changes but in my final drawing I will of course make it neat, and be sure to add color. I have yet to find out the best combinations. Will have the final ready soon though. EDIT: Final drawing done! Check it out above.

Thank you! I've looked for some of them, and I take it you are referring to generazoi's Pony Creator right? And yes, that pose does really bear close resemblance to one of those preset poses. But, I hope you believe me when I say it was not drawn with that particular pose in mind. I wanted something similar to my last drawing of Rainbow Dash but instead I wanted him to be in a prancing position and I wanted it to a be simple 2d drawing, even the tail is almost the same as Rainbow Dash's. Hmm, I am still thinking about this because I must agree it is rather strange.

So, upon playing around with it some more, I have realized you can really make any 2d pose with the in-depth pose editor generalzoi has created and that the pose in my drawing looking like one of the preset poses is really a coincidence.

I will however be more careful and make sure to do some research before drawing something and see if it doesn't look like I'm copying someone. This was definitely not my intention by any means and I am sorry if it seems like it. I just want you and anyone else with doubts about the legitimacy of that drawing to know that I was the one who drew and designed Blue Peace although he is similar to Rainbow Dash, (that's just because Rainbow Dash is awesome).

 

Thank you ! To be honest, I really had no idea I had this talent until a few months ago, my drawings are not super amazing but I think they're alright. As for how long it takes, the drawings I make are quite simple since I am no expert, I usually start with a really, and I mean really rough sketch which takes about 15 minutes. Most of the time the first sketch is not what I had in mind so I have to start over, when I finally a result that is good enough I draw it again. This time I put more care and time into it, after about an hour or 2 hours of erasing, re-doing and refining I finally get my desired result.. But this is not the end, as now the drawing might be near-perfect, there are still sloppy lines, or erased lines that I can't leave on there. So, now I take a proper drawing paper, good pencils and do my final work, this stage does not take up a huge amount of time, as the drawing is already on another piece of paper, I keep that close to me as a reference and make sure I don't mess up so I don't have to erase anything, now atleast another half hour - hour has passed and I'm done, except for the coloring in, this is really quite a fast part of the drawing because my drawings are rather simple and do not need a huge amount of shading. Only on the obvious places like when a leg is in front of another leg, that leg is going to be lighter than the one behind it. All in all the coloring takes about 30 minutes to.

All of this adds up to roughly 4 and a half hours, now this is just the drawing not the thinking time. Also, these are very rough estimations, I've never really kept track of the time, and usually just draw it all in one go.

 

Well, I have something new up on deviantArt. I failed quite badly though, I'll see if I can pluck up the courage to finish it....

EDIT: Finished it. Still not 100% happy with the result..

 

So, since I wasn't happy with my drawing of Rarity, I'll post a few sketches I did on Rainbow Dash:

So, this is really an early sketch, no mane, no correct measurements, no nothing. Only really outlines the pose I want to go for.



Now this is more like it. Added mane in this one, also added little speedy line thingies. This is starting to look more like the final product. Still a lot can be improved.



So, I will be done with this in no-time, I had already made these sketches some time ago and am almost finished. Will keep you guys posted .

 

Another update: Finally uploaded my Rainbow Dash: SPEEEEEEDD! drawing, it's almost 100% complete, as of now only have to add a background. Check it out above.

 

MOAR SKETCHES.

So I was bored in my NLT lesson (again) so decided to draw something. I thought hey! This looks good, and now I'm going to make it in to an actual drawing, enjoy.

So, here, this is what boredom does to one. I drew Rarity, then wrote boring in three different languages (English, Dutch, Italian). Then some girls saw it and drew a heart on it and it isn't even a nice heart. Lol.


This next one I drew at home, not much to say about it. Very plain..


UPDATE: Forgot to add this one, this was drawn a few minutes ago, went with a different pose, will use this pose for the final drawing. Also tested some shading.

I'm back, finished my first song, it's up now.

 

So, the song was a fail, but this is something I sketched just now, it's very rough, also one of the very first, I plan to re do it properly and color it in.

There's rain, there's clouds, there's the sun, a tree and a Rainbow! And oh, did I mention the Cutie Mark Crusaders? And lol, Applebloom's face looks so derpy in this drawing, will definitely fix that up in the final piece.

 

This is what I came up with. It's simple, but complicated too, I don't know, after drawing this (without ANY reference material) I started thinking about things, things I have learned, mistakes I've made, failure and success, really life in general. And then I started writing on it. It's become some sort of personal drawing now. Also shaded it. I don't now why, but I've been feeling down and sad lately. I don't want to call it a depression, but it's certainly something. Oh well, what am I bothering you with anyway. Here it is:
