How did all of you become bronies? I was on the g-mod movie theater, and there was this thing going around, people called bronies. I was confused and figured out they liked the MLP show. I was resentful, assuring it was only a fad. After a while, it didn't go away, so, I decided to check it out. I was intruiged, so I took a look at the first episode, and I was hooked! About two weeks later, keeping it a secret, I've watched all of the episodes, but wouldn't dare tell anyone. So, I came here, with people I can share with, and hopefully one day, I can share with the world :)

I just got bored and felt like watching MLP:FiM.

Although I was hinted about it months before I became a brony from a friend who showed everyone on FB a couple clips.

Well, I'm pretty much an insta-brony...
I first heard of it on Know Your Meme, about a month and a half ago.
Then, somewhat curious, I started watching it on Youtube while visiting my dad's friends in Edmonton (unlimited internet, unlike my home)
And ended up watching everything overnight. I got totally hooked after the fourth one. :p

I was listening to the Drunk Tank Podcast, and Michael brought up being a brony himself. I started looking up what bronies were, and before long I watched the first episode...Then i watched about 10 more that night haha.

I watched the mash up movie trailers to MLP. Then got bored at lunch one day and thought why not see what all the fuss is about. I was hooked by episode 3.

well i used to always be the depressed type always cursing others, cursing my myself, because of how nasty and insecure everyone acted in this world till one day i was searching around on the net (places like know your meme) and thats where i learned about MLP:FIM and i saw how strong and independent every other brony acted toward the trolls and every other person who likes to be an ass on the internet these days with love and tolerence and i just had to see what gave them this power of friendship. so i checked out the show and i fell in love <3 ever since then ive been huge fan

MLP:FIM fills me with life! :D

Back in June, one of the members of DFear Studios (People that made The Lazer Collection, amongst other things) either fav'd or liked the Pony Physics Presentation video, and since I'm subscribed to his channel, I saw it, and decided to see what it was. I decided to watch a few episodes, and then a few episodes turned into the whole season, and now I'm here!

Oh man, are you a Rooster Teeth fan? If so, that's awesome!

Well, at these other forums, there was a thread titled: "My little Pony: Friendship is magic discussion" and I was liek: "WTF? How old are they, 5?" I thought it was a joke thread, or something. SO then like 4 months later, I finally click on the thread and find out that My little pony is a show! Not the toys! So then I checked out the show, and I hated it. like 2 weeks later I was like, "Psshh I'm gonna go check out how gay it is, muahaha" And that time I made it to episode 4. I WAS PART OF ZE HERD.

Back somewhere in April or May, I started noticing pony images show up in certain places I visited, and I didn't really think much of it at the time. Then around the middle of May I noticed a thread show up on a forum I used to frequent entitled "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic." I started reading the thread, and saw some people say, "So you're a brony now?" and "Welcome to the herd." At first I didn't know what "brony" meant, so I looked it up. I was, at first, shocked to learn that adult men and women would watch My Little Pony. I immediately thought of the cartoon from the 80's. I was reluctant to try it at first, but then my curiosity got the better of me by the time early June came around, so I checked it out.

I thought, "There is no way I'm going to like this show. I'll watch an episode and that'll be the end of it." As you already can tell, I was wrong about that. I'd say I was hooked by the third or fourth episode. I enjoyed the pilot episodes though, because I liked Nightmare Moon's character. I like villains, so that's no surprise to me. I immediately liked Spike and Twilight Sparkle. The latter of which I'm able to identify with on some levels. The first character I considered a favorite was Fluttershy, but later on it became Pinkie Pie.

I watched the entire first season in about 3 or 4 days. At this point I was hooked, but I had trouble accepting being a brony. Whenever I tried to think, "I'm a brony," all I thought was, "I'm a br— No! You're not getting sucked into it! Resist! You're an adult man. You shouldn't be watching this stuff. How the heck can you enjoy this? What is wrong with you?" and other stuff like that. For a brief period of time, I tried to stop thinking about it, but I couldn't. I wanted more. Then one day after I googled the word "everypony," I found Everypony and EPR.

I lurked the forums and EPR as a guest for about 3 weeks. Over time, I noticed how friendly the community was and figured I'd give it a chance and see if I'd be welcome here. On July 10th, I finally caved in and joined with the hopes the community would welcome me to the herd with open arms. To my pleasant surprise, you did, and now the rest is history. I may have started watching MLP:FiM since June, but I didn't officially consider myself a brony until I joined this site on July 10th.

I was playing Fire Emblem: Fuin No Tsurugi one day.
Stuck on the fight against Narshen and co., I went to a forum to seek guidance. I see something Called My Little Emblem: Fire is Anima
It was interesting, so I had to check it out.
Apparently, it was a ROM Hack that replaced everything (Yes, Everything.) With ponies. I wondered why they were doing something so childish, so I commented on it's stupidity.

A wise-man moderator, known only as Athos-The-Archsage linked me to episode 1. I was hooked. I thanked Athos, and left their community, going against their protests. I moved on, for I felt they had ruined my life. I now realize this was a mistake. I think I should head back there and apologize for blaming them.
In fact, I'm going to do that now.

I heard about it from time to time, but it just sounded silly. Eventually, someone posted Episode 1 on the forum for a strange Minecraft knockoff (It's totally a knockoff, by the way), and since it was there, it was late at night, I had nothing better to do, and my whole family was asleep, I decided to watch it.

Throughout that night, I watched all the way to the one featuring the Parasprites (I don't remember the number nor the name. :S), and it was truly an amazing night.

i'll just copy and paste the blog post I made about this.

First I'll tell you little about myself I am a 24 year old male that is currently at school studying Film and Television as a career. Specifically I'm aiming to become either a professional video editor or movie director. My interests include listening to music nopony else listens to and making music videos for them, Watching TV shows and spending time socializing mostly online, because I am a clutz at doing it in real life.

Of course as of recently I become a brony, which is unexpected as I have always normally avoided kids cartoons with disgust.

    First Encounter
So I am going to start with my Ponification story. It all began a long long 3 months ago when I was browsing my favourite forum on Thatguywiththeglasses.com (TGWTG) and I became confused when all of a sudden nearly everyone on the forums had brightly colored ponies as their avatars and in their signatures. I had no idea what was going on.

I just assumed it was some sort of joke or some sort of trend of having a very strange theme. Anyway I didn't think much about it. But I did find a thread of a user name Phil Buni http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=30757&hilit=pony+ponies It was about him offering his artistry to ponify forum members and he included a video that finally made me understand these were from an actual cartoon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwIphm5wVAs As you can see I didn't learn much from it. So this was how I first heard about it.

    Cupcakes
You may find it hilarious that I read the famous Cupcakes fanfic before I ever watched My Little Pony How the hell? Well that's were the next part of the story takes us. While browsing Youtube I looked in my subscription box and found a new video from a user namedHeadbanger142 I was subscribed to him despite rarely watching his videos, he made a few videos about idiots on youtube and I found these hilarious so I subscribed. I found out that he mostly only did reviews of kids shows, which I wasn't interested in.

But I didn't unsubscribe because he was one of the underdogs from TGWTG that I was supporting just for the hell of supporting, besides he gave me a subscription in return, it would have made me look like a jerk if I unsubscribed. Anyway he uploaded a video titled something like I read My Little Pony fanfic Cupcakes. I can't link it or get the name right cause I can't find it anymore on his channel. Anyway I was intrigued but only because I was a big fan of the featured talent Bennet the Sage on TGWTG who read fanfic to the camera and they were always something hilariously badly written or disgustingly vulgar.

I assumed this was the same kind of reading, so I watched it. He started of by talking a little bit about the show and how he was a fan of it and identified himself as a brony. I was interested to learn that apparently a lot of people were fans of the show because it finally explained why I was seeing so many ponies everywhere, the video taught me a lot I was ignorant about.

He went on and read the fic introducing me for the first time to Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. As I expected it was a entertainingly horrible story, but believe me Bennet the Sage has read worse ones to me. Anyway my curiosity about the show heightened slightly but I still didn't want to check it out as I figured, well this guy likes kids shows, I don't. Plus come on it looks like as much a girls shows as barbie. It would take one more event before the catalyst that finally made me watch the show.

    The PMV
Wow, now that I think about it my memory here is a little fuzzy. Let me just check something. Nopey Dopey! I taught I could use my history to figure out how I came across the PMV. But the best I can come up with is that I was browsing youtube and saw a video in the sidebar that said Rainbow Dash x Pinkie Pie: All The Things She Said.

As far as I can tell my reason for clicking on it must have gone something like, oooo a All The Things She Said music video, I haven't heard that song in ages I love it. Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, they were the ones in that fanfic Headbanger read, I wonder what they look like, I'll probably understand more about this strange My Little Pony thing too.

So I watched the video and it was awesome and the music video made the show look very epic and action packed and the animation just looked so cute and appealing. So after stewing over this video in my head and finding myself bored the next day, I decided what the heck just one episode.

    Episode 1
While watching the first episode I felt uneasy about what I was doing I had some booze to null the pain I was expecting. The intro came on and I was like 'Oh god, this is the girliest thing I've ever seen, wtf'. The intro left a bitter taste in my mouth worse then that of the booze. Then the episode started and I began to relax as it wasn't that bad.

The characters didn't overact and talk babyish and the show seemed to act more mature then Pokemon that I had recently watch more for childhood nostalgia and relatively enjoyed. In fact other then the colours there were almost no references to girly things. Then there was the comedy, I found myself laughing every few minutes, they weren't particularly cheesy either, some were, others were quite clever.

Then To Be Continued... popped up. I found myself opening the next episode, I wasn't completely disgusted at this show it was bearable enough for me to actually want to see how it concluded. I was bored anyway.

    Episode 2
The jokes got even better I began to relate to and enjoy the characters, PinkiePie started singing and it didn't completely suck, like you would expect from kids show's songs. The episode didn't finish on a cliffhanger. Yet Still I'm loading up another episode, what is wrong with me?

    Episode 3
What a interesting plot, the humour is still working the characters are becoming even more likeable, I particularly enjoy Fluttershy and TwilightSparkle, why do I know all their names? Uh oh! Why am I typing episode 4, stop fingers stop!

    Episode 4
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! (20 minutes later) Oh my god that was so funny, Why do I love AppleJack so much!? MUST PUT ON NEXT EPISODE!

    Officially Brony
It was after 4 episodes nothing could stop me from watching the remaining 22 except major hunger and I suffered insomnia that didn't go away until long after I finished watching all the episodes. Then I did research into just how big My Little Pony was, I found polls that gave a 70% 18+ male demographic.

I read up on how the shows popularity started as 4chan attempting to mock the show and ended up accidently liking it. I kept reading about the whole history of the phenomenon. I learned all the pony internet lingo, and then I found communities of fellow bronies that loved the show as well and enjoyed hanging out with people like them as it still wasn't that accepted in public to like MLP and that was it, I was a goner, I was a BRONY.
and FlutterShy is the best pony Praise Her!
