As the Princess of Dreams, I can only assume she does this for all ponies. Adults dream too. However, it also means she can see our more, "private" dreams. How awkward would it be to have a dream about Princess Luna when the actual Princess herself is watching?
I would imagine she monitors the dreams of all her subjects, but probably only makes herself aware to the dreamer when they are in dire need of her help. As Scootaloo was this episode with her constant nightmares. Also I imagine on the flip side she probably has a bit of fun giving ponies nightmares on Nightmare Night! XD.
I also think she will just get into the dreams directly if the pony has a really bad nightmare and needs help. Also i think the most dont know this since the most people forget about their dreams after waking up. Or she doesnt interrupt them as active as she did with scoots. Maybe shes more in the background for the not so bad nightmares.
I wonder if she's ever tried to peak into her Sister's dreams. I can see it now... " Ahh I wonder what Tia is dreaming of tonight!?* *goes into Celestia's dream* .... Ahh this looks pleasant now wheres my... Oh My! *sees Celestia Making out with Twilight, runs for the exit* tells herself "You saw nothing Luna, YOU SAW NOTHING!!!!*
I wonder if we'll see more of Luna's ability to go into the dreams of ponies again later on in the show?
You know what would be funny? If she went into a dream and ran into Freddy Kruegar (I can never memorize how to spell his last name). I can just picture him shooing her away and saying something like "no, I was here first, find your own dream"
i think its kinda messed up that they decided to just throw that info in there to go along with the episode. it kinda ticked me off but its not that big a deal and besides its pretty epic
That's debatable because day dreams aren't really lucid despite having the word "dream" in the paraphrase. But hell, its My Little Pony so why not?:3 I often Daydream about World of Warcraft i welcome her to join in on my day dreams. xD
Im guessing she monitors all the dreams like a security guard in the security room that shows a bunch of surveillance cameras but with dreams. She probably only steps in when necessary.
...children do have REM phases more frequently than adults (plus they usually sleep longer). I also believe adults are having less troubles with their dreams, still counts though, I guess. Anyways, this dream-trotting is incredible
I would love to see more of Luna's ability to go into the dream of ponies either in Season 4 or a later Season, maybe it could be an entire episode that takes place in the dream world who agrees with me? - - Auto Merge - - By the way Princess Luna is best princess ever and Rarity is best Mane Six.
I think she might just have the innate ability to sense when somepony is having nightmares so she can help them out.
