Nnnnnope. He seems to be the same as any other pope. Bla bla abstinence bla bla. Then again, I'm not a catholic, so it's barely any of my business.
Honestly I was angry that my mom wouldn't let me watch MLP this morning because she wanted to keep a hawk's eye on this Pope stuff. That being said, the Pope has no influence on my life, as I'm an Agnostic.
Yep, no love/care for the young catholics. Although I'm not one of them. The church needs to have a young pope and get with the time. Although the only people who would still be catholic will be old people, conservatives and young kids and there family. Finally seeing as Vatican city is technically it's own country within Italy. The pope is technically the leader giving him political power.
uh well... there are a lot of catholics in germany though... Still i dont care for the pope... have heard it in the radio, cause i was preparing dinner at that time. Well.. nothing special
Catholic, not conservative, and one of many. Your point? But still, I agree that electing these conservative, anti-gay/abortion/etc aren't helping the Catholic church
Well, actually it kinda is. Catholics are almost the very definition of conservative, the people who are devout (read: go to church like erryday) Catholics are prolly a lot like Peter Griffons father, so if the Vatican went all liberal then all those people would denounce them. And I doubt they'd find a large audience in liberals, seeing as how they're prolly far less inclined to be Catholics or even religious at all. The reason they picked this guy is because 1. He's Latin American so that gives them a larger fanbase there and 2. because he's supposed to be a stable persona who can put the Church back in order after all the sex abuse scandals and something something internal Vatican upheaval. That's what the paper this morning was saying anyway. So it's all politics.
