Wait how in the world is that video tasteless? I don't get it. I only see it as silly.

My kitchen would be so much cleaner if I didn't have to share it with anybody.

    I can't wait to move. :(

I mean, it's not like it is the worst thing ever made ever, but it made me a bit uncomfortable. The essential joke is hahahahaha sexual harassment hahaha. I get the same vibe as with rape jokes. I don't consider myself easily offended, but yes, I do find the video somewhat tasteless.
I won't go on an 'OMG GET OFFA YOUTUBE' frenzy, but, you know. It tenses me up.

I'm usually the same way, but the video doesn't really do much for me in that respect, though if I recall correctly I thought it was a little weird.

I think my rationale for that would be that we are talking about Oney's work, so it's pretty much the norm in regards to his humor, so instead of finding it outright weird, I just sort of expected it while scrolling through his videos.

End of June. Unfortunately it's unlikely I'll be leaving Florida, but I will finally be rid of my roommate. No more messy kitchen, loud parties, constant marijuana smell, late-night dubstep... you know, the stuff awful roommates do.

Re: General Chat Thread 3: ...You gave up after about a Decade.

Oh I see what you mean, but the joke isn't about sexual harassment. It's more about a play on how Hermione snootily corrected Ron on the pronunciation of Wingardium Leviosa in the first Harry Potter book. It's also a play on how Snape is generally viewed as an intimidating teacher, as well as how Snape x Hermione is a popular ship among Harry Potter fans. Ron's also the one who canonically ends up with Hermione, and can have a bit of a gutter mind. So the main joke lies in that it's lampooning the scene where Hermione corrects Ron; in that it's not something one might put past Ron to do; and in the irony of Snape reacting to the nonsense in an uncharacteristic way based on how many people could see him having secret feelings for Hermione because she's basically Lily Potter 2.0; and of course in the very silly voices.

That's my take on it, anyway, and why I find it so hilarious.

Yeah, well... This is my first time encountering his, uh, work. I've seen a few (emphasis on few) of his videos now, and I guess they're somebody else's branch of weird. I did like the Avengers one, but that might be my slight infatuation with horrible puns taking over.

Oh, I know what you mean. The 7:00 violin practices, the screaming child, the friggen' vandalism, the rutinely visits from police... Yeah, I'm moving away from kind of a dump right now.

True, that plays into it as well, but Hermione is explicitly asking him to stop, and nobody reacts. I know it's just a silly cartoon, but it made me uncomfortable.
But yeah, I see the intention he was going for, and what you find humourus in it now. I just think it could have been made differently. There are plenty of other ways to bother snooty people with that same spell.

I wish my roommate played violin. Maybe then I'd hate him less. I might even make an attempt to learn from him, 'cause I love the sound of that instrument.

But this one plays guitar and bass and drums. And he doesn't play any of them well.

The neighbors here, surprisingly enough, aren't all that bad. There's the occasional shouting and gunshots but most of the time I can deal.

No, you don't understand. Not good violin. Horrible, off-key violin. Early in the morning.

Wow, gunshots? Just casually? I'm sorry, but sometimes the States are a slight parody of themselves.

    Things I know about Florida:
    - It's really hot
    - People are lightly dressed
    - This is because it's really really hot
    - In Orlando, there are exactly one gazillion amusement parks
    - It's ridiculously mind-blowingly hot
    - Floridians keep crocs in their swimming pools
    - Everybody has one such swimming pool in their garden because oh my god seriously you guys don't go to Florida it's too hot

Also, people speak Spanish and customer service is not a high priority. Guess who only experienced Florida from a tourist's perspective?

Yeah... Not only is just about everyone in Florida an idiot, but it also has the laxest gun laws in the country. Around here guns are easier to get than beer.

So I wouldn't call it a slight parody. I'd call it a ridiculously overt one, lol. To the point where gunshots and sirens don't make me nervous anymore. I just roll my eyes and carry on.

Also bad violin makes me sad. Almost as sad as not having $1400. :(

That just about sums it up, lol.

I came to Florida once as a tourist and never wanted to come again. But then my university ended up being located here. What a douche.

The people here are terrible, traffic is awful, and the weather is horrid. I wouldn't wish for anyone to ever live here unless I really really didn't like them.

And then Yami was home. Florida sounds icky. Let me guess: it's a really humid heat too.

Aw. I hope things get better for you somehow. It's never fun to live in a place you don't like.

I'm heading off to bed. Goodnight EP.

Wouldn't have it any other way. The humidity dies down around spring (like right now, the weather makes me want to not kill myself), but from June to January... yeah. There's pretty much two seasons in that time frame: hot and humid, and super hot and humid.

And g'night Birdie. 'Twas fun complaining to you. <3

    See you Birdie.

Yeah I feel you on the humid part. Georgia's also really bad about that, but it gets cool in the winter, so that's not as big a deal overall. But my god, spring and especially summer. I don't like working for 9 hours in 97 degree humid heat... D:

Talking state weather eh? Lemme give you the lowdown of Texas weather: Spring: What is this! Where is the sky! Am I in Scotland?! Summer: Burning, dry, still heat all day everyday except in the evenings when the effect of cooling off causes nightly storms and Fall and Winter: What ever Texas damn well pleases

I lived in central Texas for two years I think. The weather wasn't as humid as here, but it sure tried. Moving out of there wasn't any more fun than moving in here.

Only other thing I remember about the place is sand.

Eh, well I live in North Central Texas, we don't have sand. At least you weren't in Odessa or Midland *shudders*

Are those fun places? I lived near Fort Hood and didn't travel much, lol. Was too young for a car and there wasn't much to see anyways.
