I don't really care, unless he brings about some more modern views within the church. The Pope has some political influence, but not as much as people think. Remember when the Catholic Church admitted that Evolution was real? That didn't stop the people who said they didn't believe in it (my grandmother was and is one of them). The Pope doesn't really have power to drastically affect the lives of anyone who isn't in the Catholic Church. He mostly governs the clergy. The Pope is a bigger deal (politically speaking) in Latin America than he is here in the United States. Hitler was pretty popular to begin with. Just sayin'. Also, Godwin's Law.
Could care less about the Pope anymore. 2 years ago, this will be important to me (when I was a Catholic), now I despise the papal, and basically religion in general. Sent from my iPod touch named 'Rainbow Dash' cause I am the Realest BRonY in the mug, by Tapatalk.
Personally i've never cared about The Pope especially since i've been a Christian for most of my life and have never been Catholic ever.
I love how you just called yourself out on that XD Your point still stands though. Popularity does not equal quality. - - Auto Merge - - Catholics are Christian too. It's just a different branch of Christianity.
I certainly thought this would be a serious discussion topic, however, it seems I was incorrect. Regardless, I find this a nice subject and as such I'd love to share my opinion. I think this new pope could bring about a sense of humility to the Vatican, and perhaps a great change in the catholic church's policies and other aspects of said religion. Now, most people here don't really care about the things that go on in the Vatican, but it really affects the lives of millions around the globe, some in a positive manner and others well... that's pretty self explanatory. The new pope seems to be, perhaps, the most adequate for the job he was given, and hopefully he'll be able to guide the catholic church better than his predecessors did.
